As Kate walked in, she saw violet fussing over the different dresses. "I like this but could it be a more pale blue? It is indeed our family colours. But I'm not sure about the hem in this dress." She said. She suddenly turned to Kate when she walked in. "Where is Anthony?" Violet said.

"Oh he want back home." I say softly shaking my head.

"He what? Oh for goodness sakes, he's hopeless." Violet said rolling her eyes and folding her arms. "Utterly hopeless? What are we to do with him!" She said in a baby voice towards her grandchild. She turned back to Kate. "I'm going to talk to him when we head back!"

"No, I think best not. When he is not in the humour, I fear we shall not test it." Kate said in a somber tone.

"I always wonder what happened with that girl." violet said. She wanted to know if he resented arabella for what happened with Siena,

Hearing Violet talk about Siena, Kate simply stood awkwardly. Not knowing how to contribute to the conversation. Violet shrugged and continued fussing.

Anthony's POV

"Back early brother?" Colin asked.

"That was indeed quick. Where's mother?" Benedict asked.

"Still at the modiste, with.. the child.. and Kate" Anthony frowned, his eyebrows almost touching the floor in a scowl, with both fists resting on each side of his body. Benedict and Colin both glanced at each other. But before any of them could speak. Anthony cut in. "Yes yes, I'm so horrible! Why don't you lay it all on me! Go ahead! You have no idea how precarious and tedious this situation is!" Anthony let out in one breath.

"Yeah.. maybe I should stop sleeping around so much or else I might end up in a similar scenario.." Benedict muttered to Colin making an awkward grimace face and scratching his head.

Colin shushed him quickly tapping him.

"We don't aim to judge you brother. Let us go have a drink together and cool down. Yes?" Colin said. Anthony slowly agreed.

"Kate I'll be out in one moment, I need to speak to Madame Delacroix about a dress for Hyacinth." Violet said. Kate nodded as Violet let the toddler down.

Kate smiled warmly as the girl stood. She never could tell exactly what the girl was thinking. She knew she was just two and whatever she was thinking must not have been a lot. But still; she pondered. "Arabella darling, Come here" Kate beckoned sweetly. The toddler shuffled over and Kate took both her hands pulling her in gently.

"Youre feeling alright my dear yes?" She asked. And the toddler nodded. "And you like your dress?" Kate asked. The toddler again nodded. "Do you like blue?" She asked. To which again the toddler just nodded. Kate sighed and tilted her head. She went to speak and then stopped for a split second. "You are very like your father do you know that?" Kate said.

"Where is papa." Arabella asked. Kate was surprised, that was the first thing proper she has said to her. AND the first time she referred to Anthony as that. She looked confused,  Kate dawned on the fact that of course the child would pick up on the fact Anthony came over in the carriage with them but did not proceed indoors.

"Papa has some important business to do my love" Kate said. "But guess what, now it can be a lovely lovely surprise, he is going to be so happy when he sees how lovely you look in your new dress. Won't he!" Kate beamed.

"Why did my mama go." She frowned.

Kate sighed. "Oh sweet girl" she brushed her hair behind her ears with both hands. "What did your mama tell you?" She asked. The girl made a face before answering. "I can't remember" the girl tried to pronounce.

"Well.. your mother- she just, she loves you so, you know that don't you?" Kate said. The toddler nodded. Kate was so unsure what to say. She didn't feel it was her place at all. She wished Anthony would speak to his daughter about it. He knew siena, Kate didn't. "Sometimes life wants us to go different roads." She said.

"No!" The girl said.

Kate half smiled not expecting her to yell. "Darling..."

"No mama, at dress shop! Why not mama at dress shop. Mama always at dress shop" she began to get agitated. Kate did not know how to respond, her mouth formed an 0 shape and she stuttered. She couldn't answer her.

"Mama like dress shop! Where is she!" The two year old yelled.

"Arabella..." Kate trailed.

"NO" Arabella yelled.

For the first time in years, Kate did not know how to control the situation. She would always classify herself as a leader. She took charge quickly and took situations head first. But seeing Arabella cry, she didn't know what to do, she was stumped. She was frozen. She didn't even notice that violet had returned with Madame Delacroix after she heard all the yelling. Violet tried to calm her down as she emerged into a full blown tantrum. She kicked and screamed.

"Careful! She is scaring away my customers!!" Madame Delacroix exclaimed.

As violet tried to pick her, she held onto some fabric on the rack, and tore it. Violet immediately apologised and promised to reimburse M. Delacroix.

"Feral"

"Who is that?"

"A bridgerton..."

"Hm."

is all could be heard outside of the blur of the angry toddler. Kate and Violet finally got into the carriage with Arabella and left.
