TAKE 7

"JESUS HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN SINCE YOU SHOWERED?"

Its been about 4 days but I cant tell my mother that.

"Do I stink that bad? I just showered this morning."

"Chloe and your hair looks more oily than usual, whats going on?" My mom questions me.

Currently JJ has kicked it up a notch and its now placing cameras around my home. Small ones, big ones, delivering ones. They all are sending one big message too. Im watching you. He's made that pretty damn clear when he gave me clear instructions on specifically not moving away from my home. And for the safety of my friend- and her husband, I didn't. Ive also been too scared of cameras Im not aware of in my shower so I haven't used it. I haven't turned on my TV, computer and I tossed my phone and got a new one, I reset everything.

It seems dramatic but I need something to feel at least somewhat safe. Which is why I'm also going to my mom's house all the way in New Hampshire

"Mom Im being serious, I showered this morning my body is like going through this weird excessive sweating phase." I whined, though maybe I shouldn't have whined. Im a bit old for that.

She scrunches her nose in disgust and rolls her eyes. "You girls are so weird now and days. Also I found this beautiful studio apartment thats down in New York, one of my colleagues that are down there for business wants to sell it and I think it'll be perfect for you."

I raise an eyebrow. I know I wont be able to buy it, especially while feeling like my whole life is being recorded. "Oh yeah? Wheres it?"

"Manhattan."

I almost choke on my coffee. Is she serious?

"Mommy I cant afford to live in Manhattan! Thats like for rich white people."

"Where do you live now?"

"I live in Brooklyn. Plus I cant afford all of those moving costs and stuff."

She rolls her eyes "I swear you're such a cheapskate! You might as well move back in."

"No!" I almost shout

She flinches at my tone of voice. "Jesus it was just a suggestion- a joke statement at that."

Did I seriously just yell at my mom? All because of the thought of me dragging her into this whole JJ situation? I seriously need a fucking drink.

"Sorry, Im uh... Im on my period."

She laughs a bit "I fucking knew it. Thats why you're sweating so much."

I cant bring myself to telling her the truth. That Im on birth control and rarely get my period.

"So let me tell you about this new thing me and your father tried last night..." she says while her eyebrows danced.

"Ew mom, no."

"Cmon! You're my best friend, all of my friends are busy with kids and work."

I rolled my eyes. I swear Im sending this woman to a nursing home as soon as possible.

"Fine, what kinky shit did you and dad try this time?" Remind me why I agree to listen to this.
