Kael

Kael and Selene sat by the fountain, the gentle splashing of water providing a soothing backdrop to the lively sounds of the festival. The village square was alive with music and laughter, the warm glow of lanterns casting a magical light over the scene.

Kael found himself relaxing, the tension of their journey momentarily forgotten. He glanced at Selene, who seemed to be enjoying herself, her eyes alight with the festive atmosphere. They talked quietly, sharing small moments of levity that felt rare and precious.

As they sat there, a handsome young villager approached them. He had an easy smile and a confident demeanor, his eyes immediately drawn to Selene. "Would you like to dance?" he asked, extending his hand to her.

Selene blinked in surprise but then smiled warmly. "I'd love to," she said, taking his hand and rising gracefully to her feet.

Kael watched as they moved to the center of the square, the music picking up a lively tune. He felt a pang of something unfamiliar—jealousy, perhaps—as he saw the way the villager looked at Selene. He couldn't blame the man; Selene was stunning tonight.

Selene danced with an effortless grace, her movements fluid and elegant. Her high heels didn't seem to hinder her at all; instead, they accentuated the lines of her legs and added a sway to her steps. The slit in her red dress revealed glimpses of her toned legs as she twirled, the fabric clinging to her in all the right places.

Kael's eyes were drawn to her every move, captivated by the sight. Her blonde hair, usually confined in a tight bun, was now loose and flowing, catching the light as it moved around her. She looked radiant, and he couldn't tear his gaze away.

The villager twirled Selene around, and she laughed, the sound clear and joyful. Kael felt a tightening in his chest. He knew he shouldn't feel this way—Selene was his enemy, or at least she was supposed to be. But seeing her like this, so free and beautiful, stirred something deep within him.

He leaned against the fountain, trying to remind himself of their mission. They were here to stop Erebus, not to enjoy the festival. But it was hard to focus on that with Selene dancing so beautifully before him.

As the dance continued, Kael couldn't help but feel a growing admiration for Selene. Despite everything, despite their history and the roles they played, there was a connection between them that he couldn't ignore. And tonight, under the glow of the lanterns and the magic of the festival, that connection felt stronger than ever.
