[a year after Ignite Me]

"There's a ship out there."

"How far?" Castle asked Winston. He tapped his fingers along the control panel nervously. They'd on the sea for about a year now. Almost two. He, Kenji, Winston, Brendan, Warner, and about a hundred confederates had boarded on The Salisbury to sail towards Sector 34. It was the one of the many places they wanted to ally themselves with or, if uncooperative, destroy.

"Twelve meters, east." Winston replied. He frowned and pushed his glasses up slightly, "It's small, though. Some sort of a sailboat."

Castle pursed his lips before speaking, "I see. Send Kenji and Warner out the deck. We'll see if they're friendly or not."

Winston nodded. "Understood."

--

Warner's eyes were closed, arms crossed behind his neck as he swayed in his hammock. He had a choice to sleep in the rooms with Kenji but there was no way he'd sleep with the cretin. So, he chose to stay down instead.

"Warner-"

"For the love of God, Kenji. If this is about that damn peanut butter sandwich again, I swear-"

"There's a boat a few meters ahead." Warner's eyes flew open. "Castle said that we should check it out."

He sat up and raised an eyebrow. Kenji stood a few feet away wearing an old ratty blue shirt and worn out jeans. His blue hair was mussed and there were bags under his eyes. "Really? And he doesn't think I have better things to do?"

Kenji let out an exasperated sigh. "Jesus Christ, Warner. Just do it, all right? I don't have time for this shit. Put a shirt on and move your ass."

Warner gave him a blank look.

"Please." Kenji said, through gritted teeth.

Warner flashed him the most sarcastic grin he could ever give and bumped shoulders with him as he exited the room.

"Douchebag." Kenji muttered as he followed Warner up the stairs.

--

"There they are." Brendan pointed at the small raft heading towards their direction. Kenji could barely make out the silhouette of a figure waving frantically at them.

Warner glanced at Castle. "Would you mind letting me borrow your ability?"

Castle shook his head and gripped the railings of the ship. "No, I don't. Though I am quite interested to see what you'll do, Mr. Anderson."

Warner shot him a small smile and drew his hand towards the direction of the sailboat. He frowned and clenched his fingers into a fist before raising his hand up slowly. Kenji, Brendan, Winston, and Castle watched with rapt fascination as the boat rose from the water. Beads of sweat rolled down the side of Warner's head as he brought his fist towards himself. The boat followed suit- it was getting closer now. He could see the three girls clutching at the makeshift sail; two with dark hair and one with odd blue locks.

Kenji and the others made space as the boat hovered above the deck. Cursing, Warner loosened his fingers, unable to hold onto the raft any longer, and watched in distaste as the sailboat clattered noisily onto the deck.
