Nai and Addison had been waiting for one week for the help Nai's Mom promised would come.

"How sure are you that she really knew what she was talking about, she didn't really seem to be in the right mindset" Addison groaned, snuggling into the covers of her bed.

"Addison, my mom was freaking out but she isn't crazy.  This plan was talked about before so she must have known there was help" Nai said sternly, reading a book on the couch by the fireplace of their room.

"why was this plan discussed beforehand anyway? And why didn't you tell me" Addison said peaking her head out from under the covers.

" I thought she was talking about a vacation but I guess not. " Nai sighed.

" well I just think if there was going to be help they would have shown up by n-"

A knock startled both girls.

Addison got out of bed and slowly walked over to the door.

To her surprise when she opened the heavy oak door only a single letter laid before her.  Through the corner of her eye, she watched a turtle shell tabby cat slinking around the bend and off into the unknown. Addison was left with nothing but confusion.

"What is it?!?" Nai nagged.

Addison picked up the letter and traced the wax-sealed envelope with her thumb. "It looks like a letter.....I wonder who left it?"

Nai swiftly made her way over to Addison who was still standing in disbelief. "Look at the seal... Hogwarts?!"  The girls quickly opened the letters to unravel a dark caramelised parchment that read the following.

Dear Nai Cimarron and  Addison Vansaunt,

Because of the recent events, about your family situation, you have been permitted to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find an enclosed list of everything you will need to attend Hogwarts. Books can be found at Diagon Alley and are necessary for schooling, a tall man by the name of Hagrid will meet you at the front of the alley promptly at 9 am...do not be late. You are expected at Hogwarts no later than July 3.

Yours Sincerely, Minerva McGonagall

"Well, this is gonna be a change." Addison sighed. A mixture of grief and excitement buzzed within the girls. This will be a fresh start, a chance for change. To be able to leave behind their past and start anew.

The next morning Addison and Nai promptly arrived at Diagon Alley, making sure to be there exactly at 9:00. As the time passed the girls began to lose faith in the little glimmer of hope they had tasted. And finally, at 9:45 a very tall man on a strange-looking bike buzzed around the corner and pulled up next to them.

The strange man helped them find the correct books and other strange materials needed for year six at Hogwarts.

As July 3rd quickly approached Addison's nerves grew within her. As the girls rowed closer to the ominous castle her mother's voice swelled within her brain. Suddenly every conversation she had ever had with her late mother chimed at once causing her to get dizzy.

Dipping her hand in the cold lake she was instantly grounded by its plunging temperatures. As she stared deep into the rippling waves created by the effortlessly flowing boat that cut through the shimmering black waters. She became painfully aware of the surfacing creatures bobbing their heads above the water level.

A woman-like creature filled with beauty and allure glided through the water before flashing her shark tooth smile. In fright, Addison quickly pulled her hand back to her sides as the gilled creature returned to the depths. There was no telling what this place might bring or what danger is hiding behind the walls. At least she had Nai and the memory of her mother to keep her company.
