Kaiju no 8 --Hoshina x y/n

Chapter 2

                 Y/n stepped out of the truck quickly as she thanked the driver. She was greeted by Hoshina Soshirou, the vice-captain of the Third Division. Y/n looked at the male with a violet bowl cut and facials that resembled a fox. Y/n swore her heart skipped a beat, but she ignored it. "I believe that you are L/n Y/n?" he said with his usual toothy grin. Y/n nodded and saluted towards him. "Yes, that is correct, Vice Captain Hoshina."

                 Afterward, Hoshina gave Y/n a quick tour, and the duo reported to Captain, Ashirou Mina's office, with a list of the new examinees. "We've got a few interesting folks in the lineup, Captain Ashirou," Hoshina spoke while Ashirou looked through the list. Y/n saw her eyes widen slightly when she saw Hibino Kafka on the list. Hoshina continued, "Then again, I doubt that you're interested in anything outside of killing kaiju..."

                  "Keep talking. I can work and listen," Ashirou stated. "Oh, now this is rare," Hoshina said as he started rambling about the noteworthy candidates like Izumo Haruichi, Furuhashi Iharu, Kaguragi Aoi, and last but not least, Shinomiya Kikoru.

                   "Shinomiya? Mr. Isao's daughter? Isn't she only 16 years old? Now that's interesting... I hope I can befriend her or something..."  Y/n thought as she twirled her [H/C] with her right index finger.

Defense Force Training Area Two

                       "I'm the head of the screening exam's selection committee, Third Division Vice Captain Hoshina. For the second section, your task in the training area would be to....neutralize Kaiju," Hoshina said with his goofy smile. Hibino Kafka and Ichikawa Leno showed a shocked face while Shinomiya Kikoru smirked. Just then, one of the Kaijus started charging towards Hoshina. Almost immediately, the metal bars of the gate rose and prevented the kaiju from attacking. Hibino collapsed on the floor from fear. However, after seeing the Kaiju trapped, he breathed a sigh of relief. Shinomiya, who saw the old man's actions, started to chuckle at his actions. Afterward, Hibino and Ichikawa started arguing. Hoshina told them that they, of course, could not send them unarmed and led them to the gear changing room. 

                      Hoshina then came up to the observation room that was situated above the room where all the examinees were. Y/n stood beside him and observed all the examinees, watching their expressions of surprise (except for Shinomiya and Izumo).

                       "Ichikawa Leno, unleased combat power, 8%"

                      "Izumo Haruichi, 18%"

                      "Kaguragi Aoi, 15%"

                      "Furuhashi Iharu,  14%"

                      "Shinomiya Kikoru... 46%?!"

                        Okonogi screamed when she saw Shinomiya's unleashed combat power. "Hmm... 46%? That makes her on the same level as a platoon leader, huh?" Y/n muttered as Hoshina nodded at her.

                         Hoshina saw Ichikawa's discouraged expression and said, "Don't be discouraged, Ichikawa! As long as your number's above zero, you are sure to pass! I mean, it's not like I've ever seen anyone output a zero before...  " Hoshina said as he chuckled.

                          "Hibino Kafka! Zero percent!!" 

                            Okonogi screamed. Her scream was even louder than when she screamed out Shinomiya's 46 percent. "Well, well, you just jinxed it, Vice," Y/n said as she let out a soft chuckle.

                             "What?! What's wrong with him? His my first-ever zero! " Hoshina said as he burst out laughing, tears forming in his eyes. "Huh? Are the measurements wrong?" Okonogi said, typing on the computer.

                            "Just give me a little more time! I'm trying to squeeze it out!" "You are not trying to take a dump! You can't squeeze it out! " Hoshina laughed as he collapsed onto the floor. "Wow, the old guy is hilarious! I like him! He probably wouldn't pass though! "

                            "Please take your proctoring job seriously!" Okonogi shouted as Y/n nodded, reaching out and pulling Hoshina up as he stabilized himself and wiped away his tears from laughter. 

                              Hoshina headed down to the examinees and everyone turned to him as he started speaking. "Okay, now that you're all in your suits... Let's start.....the final test. "

[A/n: Sorry this is a little sloppy and not much interaction between Hoshina and Y/n; I just copied most of the parts off the manga straight. I'll try to put more interactions between Hsohina and Y/n in the next chapter. I'll do my best to update as often as I can, attempting one chapter per two days but I'm pretty busy with schoolwork and stuff. Thank you for anyone who's reading!! Kimiko out💞!! ]
