Kaiju no 8 --Hoshina x y/n

Chapter 3

Y/n's POV

                          I watched as the examinees rushed off into the training area. I observed that Kikoru easily jumped on the building and started running along it. "Oho, not bad. As expected as Shinomiya Kikoru," I thought. 

                                      "Yoju 12 down."

                                     "Yoju 03 down."

                                      "Damn it! Let's get going too! Don't fall behind, Ichikawa!" Hibino screamed as he attempted to drag his rifle with him.  "That's my line!" Ichikawa screeched back as they started a small argument.

                                       I watched as Hoshina pressed his earpiece resting in his left ear and saw Ashirou entering the room. "Oh, I forgot. Captain Ashirou Mina and Vice-captain L/n Y/n are here for the test as well. Do your best to look good for them," he said. 

                                       Sometime later, Hibino and Ichikawa were assisting people and helping them defeat Yoju. I nodded, pleased by the vast information they had. But, suddenly, Hibino was flung into a wall by Yoju 23. Okonogi told us that there were irregularities in his vitals and that Yoju 23 was still approaching Hibino. As I saw Hibino attempting to stand up, Yoju 23 was approaching even closer. "Activating remote shield!" Okonogi shouted. In that split moment, Kikoru fired her rifle, and Yoju 23 collapsed onto the ground. After the duo had a small conversation, Kikoru sped off, destroying another Yoju in the process. Hibino struggled to stand up but realized his left foot was broken. 

                                    "2032, can you hear me? This is Hoshina from the operation room. We're seeing irregularities in your vitals. Multiple fractures, probably. Possibly organ damage. As the exam proctor, I recommend you drop out. Even those shields aren't perfect. "

                                  "I'm the one who decides if I give up or not. I'm too old for dreams..." Hoshina let out a soft "Oh" as Hibino forced his body up with his left foot that was fractured.  [0% ---> 0.01%]  I watched as I saw Ashirou's eyes soften. "Guess he is not giving up that easily, huh?" I smiled. "He is an interesting one."

                                 And then Ichiwaka and Hibino became "one," in which Ichiwaka was carrying Hibino on his shoulders. "I...take back what I said," I groaned as I karate-chopped Hoshina gently on his neck to stop him from laughing. Hoshina simply dropped to the floor, bursting into laughter.  "Don't you find them funny at all, Vice-captain L/n?! "Take your job seriously!" Okonogi and I shouted. 

                                Soon, we were watching Kikoru fighting the Honju. In a split moment, the Honju was down. Hoshina let out a grin as the Honju collapsed down in front of Kikoru.

                                  "The Honju has been destroyed. The final stage of the exam is complete! Recovering drones. Good work, everyone," Okonogi announced.  "Ehhhhh???" Hibino gasped. "It's over already?!"

                                  Just then, Okonogi screamed," Abnormalities in examinee 2016's vitals!"I frowned. Kikoru? Her vitals? 

Hoshina's POV

                            "What's going on? What's happening out there?" I shouted.   "I don't know!" Okonogi replied. "But we're picking up live signals from the kaiju they already killed!"

                              "What? Those kaiju shouldn't be able to come back to life like that..." I muttered. Okonogi then shouted that the kaiju had an estimated fortitude of 6.4. I groaned. It's more powerful now. You'd need a whole company to handle that. The only ones here capable of taking that thing down fast would be..... I glanced at Captain Ashirou, then at Vice-captain L/n.  I spun my head to see Captain Ashirou give instructions. Afterwards, she turned to L/n and me.                   

                           "Hoshina, L/n, we're heading out," she said

                             "Roger"  L/n and I said. I watched as L/n unclip her hairpin from her hair and transform it into her polearm. Her E/C eyes glowed with confidence. 

                                We headed out towards the field.
