Seungmin trudged towards the school gates, his backpack a heavy weight on his shoulders. He spotted Hyunjin, his usual carefree grin plastered on his face, and they exchanged a quick wave before parting ways. Seungmin headed towards his first period, Math, his mind already spiraling with dread. He spotted Minho waiting by their usual table, a book in his hands and a worried crease on his forehead.
Just as Seungmin approached, a familiar flash of blonde hair caught his eye. There, sprawled across the table with an unsettling air of smugness, was Han. He caught Seungmin's eye and, with a theatrical flourish, pointed at the empty seat next to Minho, mouthing the words 'Remember, you can't sit here!' Seungmin rolled his eyes, the familiar annoyance settling in his stomach. He knew this was coming. Ever since Han had decided to proclaim their table as "his" territory, Seungmin had been relegated to the other side of the classroom, usually ending up next to Chan, who seemed to be always engrossed in a book of some sort.
Seungmin sighed, 'Han, you know I'm going to sit here,' he said, his voice laced with a hint of weariness. Han grinned, 'Oh, come on, Minho and I are having a deep philosophical discussion about the meaning of life. You wouldn't want to interrupt such a profound conversation, would you?' Seungmin shot him a look that could curdle milk, 'The meaning of life? You're probably just arguing about who gets the last slice of pizza.' He glanced at Minho, who was looking back at him with a mixture of sympathy and amusement. "Don't mind him," Minho mouthed, before turning back to Han who was now launching into a long-winded rant about the universe's existential angst. Seungmin sighed again, settling down beside Chan, who looked up from his book with a small smile. 'It's Han, isn't it?' Chan asked, his voice gentle. 'He does that a lot.' Seungmin nodded, 'Yeah, I just don't understand why it's such a big deal. It's just a table.' Chan chuckled, 'Maybe he just wants to feel powerful. Or maybe he's just being a total drama queen.' Seungmin couldn't help but laugh at that. Maybe Chan was right. Han did have a tendency to make everything into a spectacle. 'Well, at least you're surrounded by actual intelligence,' Chan said, gesturing to himself with a smirk. Seungmin grinned back, 'You're right, Chan. At least I'm not stuck listening to Han's existential ramblings.' Their laughter echoed through the classroom, momentarily drowning out the sound of Han's dramatic pronouncements. Maybe his spot wasn't so bad after all. After all, Chan was good company, and at least he wasn't subjected to Han's endless attempts to be the center of attention.
Minho's pov—
Minho was sitting at his usual table in the bustling school cafeteria, surrounded by his friends and enjoying his lunch. However, he couldn't help but notice the laughter and camaraderie between his friend Chan and fellow classmate Seungmin. Minho had always felt a slight twinge of jealousy whenever he saw the two of them together, but he had never acted on it before.
As he watched them, he couldn't help but feel left out and alone. He had always considered himself to be close with seungmin, but now it seemed like chan was the one who had captured his attention. Minho's heart began to race as he thought about the possibility of losing his friend to chan.
Han, Minho's boyfriend, noticed the distant look in his lover's eyes and followed his gaze over to Chan and Seungmin. He could immediately tell that Minho was getting jealous and he felt a pang of annoyance in his chest. He had never been particularly fond of Seungmin, and he didn't like the way Minho was looking at him.
Without saying a word, Han got up from his seat and walked over to where Chan and Seungmin were sitting. He stood behind Seungmin, glaring down at him with a look of disgust. Seungmin, who was in the middle of telling a joke, suddenly stopped talking when he felt Han's gaze on him. He looked up at Han with confusion, not understanding why he was being stared at so intensely.
'Hey, Seungmin,' Han said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. 'I didn't know you were such a slut. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, since you're always hanging all over Chan.'
Minho's heart sank when he heard Han's words. He couldn't believe his boyfriend was saying something so cruel and hurtful. He looked over at Seungmin, who had tears welling up in his eyes. Seungmin quickly got up from his seat and ran out of the cafeteria, clearly upset by Han's comments.
Minho immediately got up and followed Seungmin, not wanting to leave him alone in his time of need. He found Seungmin standing in front of the bathroom sink, staring at his reflection in the mirror. Seungmin's eyes were red and puffy, and he was trying hard to hold back his tears.
'Seungmin, I'm so sorry about what Han said,' Minho said, his voice filled with concern. 'He didn't mean it, I promise. He was just being jealous.'
Seungmin turned to look at Minho, his eyes filled with hurt and betrayal. 'Why would he be jealous of me? I didn't do anything wrong. I was just trying to be friends with Chan.'
Minho sighed and wrapped his arms around Seungmin, pulling him into a tight hug. 'I know, I know. It's just that Han can be really insecure at times. He doesn't like it when he feels like he's losing my attention.'
Seungmin relaxed into Minho's embrace, feeling grateful for his understanding and support. 'I didn't mean to cause any problems between you and Han. I just wanted to be friends with Chan.'
Minho smiled and kissed Seungmin on the forehead. 'I know, and I appreciate that. But please, can you try to understand how Han is feeling? He loves me so much, and he just wants to make sure he doesn't lose me.'
Seungmin nodded, feeling guilty for causing any issues between Minho and Han. 'I understand. I'll try to be more mindful in the future.'
Minho smiled and hugged Seungmin again. 'Thank you. I really appreciate it. And I'm sorry for Han's behavior. He can be a bit hot-headed at times.'
Seungmin smiled back and hugged Minho tightly. 'It's okay. I forgave him already. I just want us all to be able to get along and be friends.'
Minho nodded, feeling grateful for Seungmin's forgiving nature. 'I agree. And I'll make sure to talk to Han about this and make sure it doesn't happen again.'
Seungmin nodded and the two of them left the bathroom, feeling a little bit better about the situation. They walked back to the cafeteria together, where Han was waiting for them with a look of apology on his face.
'I'm sorry, Seungmin,' Han said, his voice filled with sarcasm. 'I didn't mean what I said. I was just being jealous and stupid.'
Seungmin rolled his eyes and walked out but was pulled back in by Han who whispered ' if I ever see u near minho I will make your life a living hell. ' he'd then smile innocently as if he did nothing wrong.
Seungmin would sigh walking out deciding whether to ignore minho or not.
