Jay's POV
I and Cee spent some time talking about our feelings for each and I realized that I was a dense coward.
(Let's not talk about it... I felt soo dumb.)It was 12:00 , and we both knew that it was about time we went to work and avoided trouble.
Cee's wore her dress from last night to avoid any suspicions . I dressed up for work in my usual clothes and soon, we were outside my house.
I didn't fail to notice something on my phone, though... Dozens of missed calls and texts from unknown numbers. My heart sank as I scrolled through them, each message more invasive than the last... The leaked pictures had a lot of effect on the customers and haters.
I tried to avoid the notifications as we made our way to my car.
"Oh, gosh... Look at this," Cee said, her voice trembling. She handed me her phone, the screen lit up with the latest news article. The headline screamed, "CeeJay: The Real Deal or a Scandal in the Making?" Accompanied by the same photos that had first brought this whole mess to light.
I clenched my fists, anger boiling inside me. "They have no fucking right to invade our privacy like this," I hissed. " I'm scared, Jay... What if my gramps finds out? What if people start hating on us? What if... What if it affects our collaboration? " Cee started freaking out, anxiety reflecting in her eyes .
"Hey, hey, calm down...I won't let that happen. I'm here for you, 'kay?" I put my arms around her and gave her a heart warming hug. Her body tensed up a bit, but she eventually relaxed and hugged back.
"We'll deal with this... Together, " I patted her on the back, pressing my face against her neck . I took her sweet scent in - a mixture of strawberry and rosa. We stayed like that for a while until...
"H-Hey, we gotta go... Remember? " Cee said, her face against my chest."O-Oh, right," I giggled nervouly. I blushed a bit as we pulled away but her? She was as red as a tomato.
She tried to avoid my gaze. "I still can't believe you're not used to my hugs... We've been been hugging for the past three years, ya know? " I chuckled in amusement. "W- Well... This f-feels different, " she hid her face with her hair.
"How different? " I took leaned in to her, bringing my face soo close to hers . Her eyes widened a bit and she grew redder. "U-Umm, I don't know!" I stared intensely into her eyes, proud that I was holding her gaze. There was silence... and then, she run to her side of the car in embarrassment. I chuckled some more, still amused.
I opened the door to my side of the car and sat in, tilting my head to look at Cee as she sat in the car, biting her lips nervouly as she closed the door.
"You'll have to get used to me, " I grinned as I closed the door. She looked at me with a shy nod and looked away.
The drive to the company was awkward... We were both adjusting to the new level of our relationship, I guess. I had'nt even asked her to be my girlfriend yet.
We conversed a bit, and Cee told me about her fears concerning the media situation... Especially, about her gramps finding out.
I was equally anxious, or more. The fact that I did something with his granddaughter last night was not frightening at all (Sarcasm) ... But, I couldn't let that get to me.
I tried to calm her down, reassuring her continuously that I loved her and that everything would be alright.
*TIME SKIP*
Eyes of our employees and others followed us as we made our way through the halls. Whispers filled the hall, the tension soo great.
Naturally, Cee would greet everyone cheerfully but now, she was soo quiet that it bothered me. Her radiant smile was missing too. She was unusually reserved, and I was worried.
