*Just a tiny warning, this is my first story in English so please don't judge me for my spelling and my grammar guys. But now I won't stop you from starting my story, I'm actually not so sure where I want to go with it but you will see.*

"Why are you still single?" That's the question of the questions, I don't know how often somebody asked me that. But I'm still answering the same. "I don't have the time for a relationship. I don't understand why nobody gets that."
My grandmother looks at me like I've slapped her in the face. "But Lena, Love is so beautiful. If you find it, you will always have time for it."
"Well, then I didn't find it yet." Shrugging I am getting up and placing my chair back at the brown, hard wooden table. "No, you will not leave that conversation now." Her eyes are piercing wholes in the back of my head and I'm forced to turn around again. "Grandma, I have dancing lesson, please. I promised Luke to be there on time." She puts a grey strand of hair behind her ear and sighs. "Then go, you can't keep Luke waiting, can you?" As an answer to her winking, I just roll my eyes and make my way to my room. Just as I'm about to close the door behind me, I hear her talking more to herself than to me "Maybe she should think about starting something with Luke. She talks so much about him and he did seem really nice and handsome." As fast and as loud as I can I'm closing the door. Oh god, please spare me. Even my grandma is shipping me with that asshole. To be honest I hate Luke. I hate him so fucking much. His big hands, which like to find their way to places they shouldn't and his sleazy smile. I'm already gagging.
I must look really pissed, because my little sister Cassandra is walking by and says "Bro what's up with you? Why are you looking so damn mad?" She puts her hands on her hips and looks at me sceptical. "It's fine." Is all I'm willing to answer and I'm just walking away from her. "Hey Lena! Stop you can't just ghost me like that." "Yes I can, you see?" And with that I'm closing my door.

A quick glance at the clock tells me I'm already late. Fuck. In a hurry I'm grabbing my bag, with my phone, my purse, my headphones and some lip gloss, before I hurry out of my room down the stairs and out of the door. A short „Bye" is everything my family gets to hear from me. I'm putting on my headphones and getting on my e bike. It's a twenty minutes ride from here to my dancing school, but if I hurry I can make it in fifteen minutes. I promised Luke to be there at 20 and it's already 10 so I will be late anyways. But everybody who knows me knows that I'm always late so it doesn't matter. At the half of the way I'm starting to regret my decision of going by bike. My hair will look horrible. God damn. Fuck it. Doesn't matter anymore and move on.
It's 5:25 when I arrive. Proud at myself for just being 5 minutes late I'm getting off my bike. I am just bending over to lock it, so it won't be stolen and I am sure I have a way to get back home, when I feel two hands at my hips and a body pressing into me. I shudder and try to sit up with as little physical contact as possible. I don't have to turn around to know who would touch me that inappropriate but I do it anyways. "Hey Luke." My fake smile already hurts. "Hi Lena." He shoots me on of his not so rare sleazy grins, which I hate so fucking much. Nearly as much as I hate his touch. His platin blond hair is shorter than I have in memory and even looks worse than before. "You cut your hair?" "Yeah, it looks good, doesn't it? I mean I always look good for you." He winks at me and places on of the hands I pushed away a moment before back at my hip and pulls me closer. I cringe. Why am I still doing this? I don't know. I told him a thousand times to stop it. To stop being like that. But he always said he does that with all of his friends. Sure, he grabs the ass of all of his friends. I wish I could just slap him and never have to talk to him again. But if I told him no, like really no, I wouldn't have a dance partner anymore. And partner dance without a partner sucks. I would have to dance with the weird guys, even weirder than Luke is. So I decided to stick with him. With this fucking asshole. I prove a lot of patience when I'm around him. But nobody knows that. And it's going to stay that way.
Luke's hand is pulling me in direction of the stairs. "Let's go downstairs, the lesson starts in 5 minutes." I'm just about to give in to his request, when I feel a new touch at the small of my back. This one is much gentler than Luke's. And with a jerk I'm pulled out of Luke's grasp right into the arms of Mary. Her hair, which has the same colour as mine, falls wavy on her her wide shoulders and her hazel brown eyes are sparkling as she looks at me with a wide smile, before she hugs me as a greeting. Relieved as I am, I fall into her soft touch and let my body relax. Having a friend hug you is the best therapy I swear.
She's not as tall as me, so she has to stand on her tip toes to reach my shoulders but she still holds me close.
"You alright?" The whisper at my ear gives a goosebump. "Yeah I'm alright don't worry." "Sure? You seemed pretty uncomfortable." A short moment I'm thinking about telling her. But as fast as the thought came it was gone and my mind is working again. So I decide not to. "Yes Mary, I'm pretty sure but it's sweet that you're worrying." She backs out of the hug just to smile at me but her right hand at my hip stays. It's a subtle gesture but I know what signal she's trying to send. It's a warning for Luke. He looks sceptical. His eyes constantly flicking between Mary and me.  Nearly suspicious. What is he thinking? Wait. I don't want to know. I really don't. His blue eyes meet mine and he makes a step in my direction "Lena? Are you coming?" Before I'm able to answer Mary pulls me closer with a smirk and says "No she's not. We got some hmm business to attend to. But you can wait downstairs." She sends him a way too sweet smile. He shakes his head in disbelief and is looking at me as if he's waiting for me to say something. But I don't. I just look at him blankly until he finally turns around and walks down the stairs to the entrance of our dancing school. "Finally he's gone. God Lena, how are you able to dance with that brat. He's horrible." "I know, but he's not that bad at dancing and I won't find another partner. Not anymore."  "You will always be able to find someone better than him. You know that. I mean look at you, every guy should be grateful he's allowed to dance with you." I give her a thankful smile. "That's nice really, but all the good guys already have a partner and he the best out of the worst." She looks like she's about to argue me but then decides differently. She just nudges me in the side "your wonderful partner is right, we have to get down there the lesson is about to start and Fabia will be mad if we're late." Mary and her sarcasm. I nod in agreement and free myself out of her grip to walk downstairs with her right behind me. "Do you know who's going to be there today?" I totally forgot to read the 20 messages in the group chat so I have no clue who of our friends will be there. "Yeah well Liam will be there, Lara and Ryan, Anne but Fynn is not going to make it. Kara and Phil won't be there either. Kara said it's her mothers birthday, but Mara and her partner, the one I always forget the name will also be there." I nod. "So everybody has a partner today except Anne?" „Yeah exactly. But Lia said she won't have a partner too so that won't be a problem." That's good. I always feel bad if one of the girls doesn't have a partner because that means they have to dance with one of the weirdos. I reach the end of the stairs and watch the blond girl walking down the last stairs. I hold out my hand  and courtesy for her. "My lady" I cringe and we both have to laugh as she gracefully takes my hand. "Very nice thank you" She laughs again, before she wraps an arm around my shoulders to steady herself. "Whoa not so fast." I like teasing Mary and she likes teasing me. It's kinda our thing. "I'm always fast for you. Whenever you want." she winks at me and gives me a coquette grin. Oh yeah and flirting is our thing.
With her arm around around my shoulders we walk to the reception desk of the dancing school. Dan greets us, "hey girls, a bit late today, huh?" "Not my fault." Is all I say and earn a soft punch from Mary. "Yeah of course it's always my fault." Dan smiles and shakes his head. "Just get in you two, before you will get on each others throats." We share a laugh before Mary pulls me with her inside. I look around searching for the table with our friends until I spot them. All the girls with nearly all of their partners and Liam are seated around a round table in the corner right besides the bar. Liam is Mary's dance partner. He smiles as he sees her and gets up to first greet her and then me. The rest of the others do the same and it takes a moment before we have said hello to everyone. "Where have you been? You're pretty late." I look at Mary and she puts an arm around my waist before she says "This pretty lady beside me was late." "I was late? You were later than me." "No I don't think so, I'm pretty sure-"  "Hush. We talk about it later." I wink at her and she first looks at me than at my finger above her mouth and laughs. "Ladys, what did I miss here? Can somebody please update me?" Lias voice sounded curious. "What do you mean?" I look at her. I have no clue what she is talking about. Why updating? About what? She just shakes her head and her red locks fly wildly. "Never mind." Is everything I get as an answer. "Guys, the lesson starts." Fabias voice sounds through the anteroom and everybody is getting up. "If I may steal your companion?" Liam is smiling at me. "Of course." I smile back at him. His brown hair shakes a bit as he moves a bit out of the way so that Mary can walk to his side. Before she goes she leans near my ear and whispers "Have fun." Not waiting for my reaction, she just turns around and leaves me there. A moment I'm just standing there and thinking about what she just said to me and then I start looking out for Luke. Yayyyy, dancing with Luke. I find him on the other side of the ballroom with his friends. He catches my eye and walks over to offer me his right arm. "May I have a dance." I simple nod and we start walking around like the rest of the couples.
The first 20 minutes are the same to all the other dancing lessons. We dance, he tries to talk to me and I barely respond. But then, just as we started our first walz and his face is only centimetres from my ear and he asks "Lena?" " What's up?" "Are you in a relationship with Mary?" I'm coughing in surprise. "What?" "Is she the reason, why you always reject me? Are you gay?" What? Where does that come from. I'm not in a relationship with Mary and I'm not gay. As far as I know. I'm mean women are hot, but no I've never even thought about it. But wait maybe he would stop being like he is, and we could still dance. That's the opportunity. He gave me the perfect opportunity. God Luke I love you. Wait, ew. No. But damn best opportunity. "Well, we decided to keep it private but you already guessed it so, yeah Mary is my girlfriend." She just doesn't know it yet. The moment I said it he totally messed up his steps and got off beat. "Sorry" His face is turning red. "Yeah well then I'm happy for you. I'm just going to apologize to Mary. For trying to turn you. But you know, if you're not sure about the whole girl or dude thing, I can help you?" I was just waiting for the old Luke. It felt weird, the whole Luke being nice thing. " It's fine, you don't have to talk to her, I can just tell her. And no thank you I'm pretty sure what I want." "I will talk to her." "Luke no." Instead of answering me, he just spins us even faster around, and ignores me. I am just about to tell him again when Fabia says, "Guys, halftime break, get something to drink at the bar." As soon as she said it, Luke was halfway to Mary. So I'm running after him just in time to catch the last words of his sentence. "- for trying to steal your girlfriend." Mary looked more confused than ever. "Girlfriend?" Luke nods in my direction. "Yeah Lena, your girlfriend." Mary looks at me even more confused. But then she stops and her eyes flick to Luke again. "Wait, I thought we wouldn't tell anyone?" God damn, thanks Mary. I was nearly dying at a heart attack. "Yeah I was asking her about it and she just told me. Again I'm sorry, but as I told Lena, if you need a dick I'm always there." "Uhm thanks? Well Lena we have to talk please. Bye Luke" Is everything Mary said to him, before she grabbed my upper arm and pulled me to the toilet.
