It was pitch black. On the rocky, unsteady road leading to BergenTown, a critter was moving fast but quietly, her evergreen paws being barely audible as a troll was following her trail.

It was an armadillo bus, a small one that had just reached her teen years, her sides colored by two red and orange stripes. The troll was her master, best friend would be a much more appropriate choice of word; he had orange goggles on his head, crowning the dark cyan illuminated by the few rays of moonlight piercing through the thick clouds filling the night sky. There was no stars to show them the way, they had been searching for so long to get back here; the forest had been destroyed to only leave a set of dead and dry hills on which was now standing what looked like a huge castle.

The young troll with blue skin was now standing in front a large wall of bricks, obstacle to reach what he came for. 3 years and a half was too much longing to give up now- reaching into his old bag, he took out of it his loyal grappling hook, aiming toward the top of it. The old tool actually wrapped around an old fence; the 17 year old young troll pulled on it a few times before judging it was solid enough. Behind him, the armadillo critter unexpectedly nibbled into his tail tuft;

- Ow ! He suddendly gasped, Rhonda ! Stop your bullshit ! He grounded her in a loud whisper.

The critter stared at him with wide green eyes of confusion, her friend rolled his blue eyes as he opened his bag and poured some treats into it;

- oH bUt jOhn dOrY, he faked a high pitched voice for his pet, yOu sAid bEfOre gEtTiNg hEre I wOUld gEt TREATS ! Well, c'mon ! Get in the bag ! We are climbing this wall...

Obviously with the amount of treats in the backpack, she obliged right away. John Dory then started the ascension, grunting with the effort it requested to his body, When he finally reached the top of the fence, it was with hurry and without really looking, that he, using his hair to get safely there, rushed toward the Troll Tree as his heart pouding in his chest.

He was so excited he didn't even noticed the destroyed village.

The young troll ran so fast, ignoring the pain in his legs. Every muscles of his body would soon freeze as his eyes landed on the state of his childhood home.

All the lights were out, he just understood now that every light in the tree was out and that his flashlight was the only reason he had been able to get there without tripping. The fear slowly crawled under his skin like a shadow of a predator on its prey.

The door cracked open.

John Dory's tail wrapped around his paws as he took in the image in front of his eyes; all lights were out, the furniture was covered in a slight blanket of dirt. He didn't needed much to catch up on what had happened here;

... The Trollstice's last dinner had probably been delicious to those cruel Bergens. Now, imagined with a filled up stomach, they would be so peaceful the agony coming from the tree wouldn't be enough to wake up any of them.
