CRYSTAL

We arrived at a classy restaurant and my uncle got out of the car. He stared at me. “Aren't you getting off?” I quickly recovered from my shock as I came down and followed him eagerly. I guess he wasn't that bad afterall.

We entered the restaurant and took a seat beside the window offering us a view of the bustling street. A waiter came over and took our order. He ordered for the both of us. That, which I was grateful for, as I wasn't familiar with any of the dishes on the menu.

Five minutes later, I noticed that the restaurant was still empty. ‘Weird’ I thought as I looked around. There seemed to be nothing wrong with this place. Unable to hide my curiosity, i asked.

“Why isn't there anyone coming to this restaurant, is their business bad?”, I asked him as I noticed he was a frequent customer of this place as he ordered our meal without glancing at the menu.

“Because I hate noise” he stated with a face void of emotion. I was speechless. How cold could this man be?. He just booked a whole restaurant for himself?. Just then, a man who looked like the manager walked to our table.

“Mr Smith, I am honored you've graced us with your presence” the manager stated. “Please let us know if you would need anything”. The manager finished with a glint in his eyes.

“There would be no need for that”, my uncle who I just realized his full name was Damien Smith replied in a firm tone.

“Of course” the manager replied, realizing we required no use of him and excused himself just as our meal was brought to the table.

The smell wafted through my nostrils making my mouth water in delight. Ignoring every sense of etiquette, I dived into the meal, devouring every mouthful. I couldn't even make out what I was eating. I just knew it tasted awesome.

It was only when I was halfway through the meal I realized I had company. I looked sheepishly in my uncle's direction. “Sorry” I muttered as I dropped my spoon. He looked at me with wide eyes which morphed into something similar to amusement? I couldn't say.

“Eat slowly” was his reply as he started eating not paying me any attention. I nodded and went back to devouring my food but a bit slower this time.

Soon dessert was brought over. I couldn't help but scream in delight as I brought the spoon to my lips. “I have never tasted anything as good as this” I moaned in delight in between mouthfuls. It was so creamy and sweet that it practically melted in my mouth bursting into flavors I couldn't make out.

I was becoming bolder now, maybe due to my Uncle's silence. He hadn't said a word during the whole meal. Deciding to take my chance. I looked at him and asked, choosing my next words carefully.

“May I order another bowl of dessert please?”, I asked sheepishly. “Hmm” he replied. “Thank you, you're so nice, the best” I cooed, offering him my biggest smile. His lips curved up in what almost seemed like a smile but was quickly masked back into indifference.

I ordered another bowl and drained it till the last drop. Pushing my luck, I decided to ask again. “May I have another?”. “No” he replied firmly and stood up and paid the bill. ‘Okay I can't have more than two bowls of dessert, noted’ I stood up and rushed after him pushing my thoughts away.

As we left the restaurant, the area became more secluded and apprehension set in. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat as I became more alert. ‘Was I wrong to trust this man?’ ‘Have I made a terrible decision?’

“Scared?” He asked in a low voice. “No” I muttered, but my expression betrayed my answer. Soon enough, my doubt was cleared when I began to see other houses. It was an estate.

We drove further into a more secluded area of the estate and sitting right there was the most magnificent house I'd ever seen. It reminded me of the white house.

Everything was perfect. “Wow, is this your house?” I squealed. “It's so beautiful just like you”, I blurted out before I could stop myself. My hands rushed to my mouth to hide my gasp as I looked at the man beside me.

He gave a light chuckle and came out of the car. “Come” he said as he waited for me to exit the car. I came down and walked over to the driver's seat. “Thank you for driving us” I stated happily as I bowed to the driver to show my gratitude.

The driver looked shocked as he glanced at my uncle not sure what his answer should be. “Sure” he muttered uncomfortably. I guess all the people working for him didn't speak much.

I rushed forward to catch up with my uncle who was already heading inside the mansion. I followed him in.

If I thought the outside of the building was magnificent then the inside was magical. The walls were also painted white but with a blue theme as well. The couch, chandeliers and every other furniture in the living room was ocean blue.

“Margaret”, my uncle called out and a middle aged woman with gentle features walked towards us. “Master Damien” she stated and glanced in my direction acknowledging me.

“This is Crystal Norman, crystal this is Margaret my housekeeper, she would show you to your room. I'll see you at dinner” he said and walked away disappearing from view leaving me with the housekeeper.

“Hello” I said in a meek voice. “I'm Crystal”. “Oh child” she cooed embracing me into a tight hug. “Come, let me show you your room” she said as she gently tugged me upstairs.

She got to a door which I guessed was my supposed room and ushered me in. I couldn't hide the gasp that escaped my lips as I surveyed the room. “It's beautiful, I love it” I rasped breathily.

The room was painted in white with a touch of baby pink. There was a plush pink carpet, the pillows were pink, my duvet was pink, the curtains were pink. And there were some fluffy teddy bears arranged neatly on the bed.

I immediately fell in love with this room. “Thank you so much ma'am” I said turning to the housekeeper. “Oh stop it, you can call me Margaret, that's what everyone here calls me. Besides, all this was Master Damien’s idea. I just followed his orders. You should thank him when you see him at dinner” she said.

“I would leave you now, child, to shower and settle in. Everything is in the bathroom. And your clothes are in the closet. Call me if you need anything especially with that bandaged hand of yours?”. “I'll be fine” I assured her. “Thanks”

“Okay” she said, not clearly convinced but she decided to let the matter drop which I was immensely grateful for. “Dinner's at eight” she finished and gave me a loving pat on my head as she left.

I rushed to the closet and found the clothes hanging neatly in the closet. The clothes were every girl’s dream. Cute cardigans, pleated skirt, baggy pants, cute tops all in my favorite colors with a teddy bear print on them. It was bliss. I went for the drawers next and spotted some panties, sports bra and regular bras.

I blushed at the thought of someone picking these out for me. I recovered quickly and picked a set of mini shorts and a big top suitable for house wear and headed for the bathroom to clean the stench of the hospital off me.

At the bathroom I found various skin care products that i was in awe of which one to use.

Randomly selecting a body wash that smelled like apples, I headed for the tub. I removed my clothes slowly, trying to avoid using my right hand which was still bandaged.

After a few grunts here and there. I managed to get out of my clothes and sank into the warm bath. I kept my right hand outside the tub and soaked myself in delight. After many minutes, I decided to get out, promising myself and the tub that I'll be back.

I carefully wore my clothes and headed for the bed, squealing in delight as my body sank into the soft mattress. I soon fell into a dreamless sleep.
