The twisted tree is the power tree, it holds all the power Nala needs, the tree is so magical that it doesn't burn even though it's completely on fire.
Nala made this tree to store her fiery power so that when she needs it she can rely on the tree to give it back to her.
But if the tree is destroyed then the fire will burn out, the fire only comes to Nala when she's very angry or frustrated with something or someone.
