I arrive. The ash floats up into the watercolor sky.

Nezuko is gone.

All that I've fought for for the past two years, all the near death experiences I've risked.

All for Her. All for the sake of having my only family member return human.

And not even her bones remain.

Cruelty.

At this point that's all I know.

Tanjiro lays in the grass and cries. No, sobs. I'm sure he's exhausted, and probably feeling the worst pain in his life. Loss.

Actually, I just remembered something. Something I overheard from one of the other corps members.

"Yeah, you know that kid they just captured? His sister is a demon! I heard he's begging them not to kill her, because his whole family was killed by a different demon. That's his only living relative."

That's when I realized the severity of the situation, not that it wasn't terrible before. It would be like losing Sanemi.
Even if he turned demon, I would protect him with my life. If they killed him, I would be next.

*a few hours pass*

Tanjiro is inside, unconscious. He cried until he collapsed from exhaustion. And probably blood loss too. Not even that crazy swordsmith that nearly strangled Tokito is bothering him.

As I look outside, I see a faint black figure flying closer to us. It's a crow.

That's when the terrible news arrives.

"KAWW! Corps member Tanjiro Kamado is to be put on trial and if found guilty the punishment will be execution!"

The crow looks broken-hearted. Actually, come to think of it, I think that's Tanjiro's crow.

The love hashira looks like someone just smacked her across the face. Actually, we all probably look like that.

"WHAT!? He was only defending his little sister, and she died too!"

The crow comes down. I actually feel pretty bad for it, it clearly cares a lot about its owner. It looks miserable and is kinda quiet for a crow.

"Yes, but corps member Kamado made a promise that he would not put his sister's life over any human's. He chose his sister over the villagers."

Tanjiro is going to be fighting a losing battle.

It's not just the fact that he protected his sister. I believe the hashira will be the jury, and the only one on his side would probably be Kanroji, being that Rengoku is dead and Tengen retired.

Maybe I can convince Tokito to help out, but he might not even be there considering he's probably forgotten who Tanjiro is.
