Jungkook got up in the middle of the night, unable to sleep. He sat with his knees pulled towards his chest, lost in his thoughts. A little while later, Yoongi came back from practice along with Woojin. Yoongi noticed Jungkook and asked, "What's wrong, Kookie?"
"Nothing, hyung. Everything's fine. I just couldn't sleep," Jungkook replied quickly.
Yoongi shrugged, too tired to press the issue further. But Woojin felt uneasy. Jungkook had been acting strange lately. He normally didn’t explain himself so much, but now he was giving unnecessary explanations for everything.
Jin noticed Jungkook's discomfort and gently caressed his head. "Bunny, is there any problem?" he asked softly.
"No, hyung. Everything's fine," Jungkook insisted.
Jin sighed. They couldn't help if Jungkook didn't want to talk. He glanced at Woojin, wanting to ask him to keep an eye on Jungkook, but he knew Woojin was already exhausted from school, swimming, practice, and other responsibilities.
As the night went on, everyone gradually drifted off to sleep, exhausted from the day's activities. Taehyung, sensing Jungkook's unease, pulled him close and hugged him to sleep. Jungkook felt a small comfort in Taehyung's embrace, but his mind was still restless.
It had been almost two weeks since they returned from home and since Woojin had saved that girl from bullying. Since then, Nara had been constantly on Woojin's case, but with Minho by his side, Woojin managed to handle it all.
Yet, despite everything, Jungkook's behavior continued to worry Woojin. He noticed how Jungkook had been unusually quiet, often giving unnecessary explanations and appearing more anxious than ever. Woojin's protective instincts were on high alert, and he knew he had to find out what was troubling his brother.
The sun rose, casting its golden rays over the bustling dorm. As usual, the morning chaos was in full swing with everyone scrambling to get ready. Books were being shoved into bags, toothbrushes were shared in the bathroom, and Jin was trying to cook breakfast while dodging Namjoon's clumsy attempts to help.
In the midst of this madness, Woojin, Jungkook, and Taehyung were still fast asleep, wrapped around each other like a pile of puppies. Jin, ever the soft-hearted one, watched them with a fond smile, snapping a few pictures for blackmail material.
"Guys, it's time to get up," Namjoon said, shaking them gently.
Woojin blinked awake first, his hair sticking up in all directions. "Morning, hyung," he mumbled, trying to untangle himself from Jungkook and Taehyung without much success.
Jungkook groaned and burrowed deeper into Taehyung's embrace. "Five more minutes," he pleaded, sounding like a cranky toddler.
Namjoon chuckled. "Sorry, Kookie. We don't have five minutes. Taehyung, get up."
Taehyung opened one eye, sighed dramatically, and stretched like a cat. "Fine, fine. We're up," he said, yawning loudly.
With great effort, the trio finally extricated themselves from their cozy nest and stumbled to the bathroom, where a battle for the sink ensued. Toothpaste flew, water splashed, and Jin had to intervene before someone lost an eye.
Despite the chaos, the morning had its moments of sweetness. Woojin, Jungkook, and Taehyung got ready together, helping each other with ties, books, and the occasional unruly hair. Jin watched them with a mixture of amusement and affection, feeling like a proud parent sending his kids off to their first day of school.
Namjoon, ever the practical one, was already barking orders. "Come on, people! Breakfast is getting cold, and we need to leave in ten minutes!"
"Namjoon, your idea of cooking breakfast is burning toast," Yoongi grumbled, grabbing a piece of slightly charred bread.
"Hey, it's not my fault the toaster's possessed," Namjoon shot back.
As the morning chaos subsided, Woojin and Jungkook rushed out the door, realizing they were running late. Despite the hurry, they didn't forget their morning ritual—a quick but tight hug to bid each other goodbye. Their schools were in the same complex, with Jungkook’s being in the adjacent building.
"See you later, Kookie!" Woojin called as they parted ways.
"Bye, hyung! Have a great day!" Jungkook replied, waving as he ran towards his building.
When Woojin reached his locker, he was greeted by Minho, who was waiting impatiently. Without missing a beat, Minho smacked Woojin on the head.
"You're late, dummy!" Minho scolded, but his tone was more teasing than angry.
"Yah, I know! We had a chaotic morning," Woojin said, rubbing the spot where Minho had hit him.
"You always have chaotic mornings," Minho retorted with a grin. "Anyway, did you hear the latest gossip?"
Woojin groaned. "Do I have a choice?"
As Minho launched into his latest gossip update, Woojin's mind wandered back to Jungkook. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was off with his little brother. Jungkook had been acting strange lately, explaining things that didn't need explanations and generally being more withdrawn.
"Are you even listening to me?" Minho asked, snapping his fingers in front of Woojin's face.
"Huh? Yeah, yeah, something about Nara, right?" Woojin replied, snapping back to reality.
Minho gave him a skeptical look. "You really need to stop spacing out. Anyway, we should get to class before we're even later."
As they walked to class, Woojin couldn't help but keep an eye out for any signs of trouble. He was determined to protect Jungkook, no matter what.
During break time, Woojin couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching him. When he mentioned it to Minho, his friend shrugged it off.
"Yah, maybe it's Nara. So what?" Minho said nonchalantly.
But Woojin felt it again, that unmistakable sense of being watched. He quickly turned to see the girl they had saved a couple of weeks ago, trying to peek at him from behind a locker. "Is she crazy?" he thought.
The third time she peeked from behind the locker, Woojin wasn't there. She turned around, startled, to find him standing right behind her. He raised his eyebrows, silently asking what she was trying to do.
She shrugged, looking flustered. "Ani, why would I be looking at you?"
"I didn't say you were looking at me," Woojin replied. "What's up with you?"
She was about to leave when Woojin grabbed her bag, gently but firmly pulling her back towards him.
"Hey," he said, "if you need to talk or something, just say it. Don't go all spy-mode on me."
She looked down, avoiding his eyes. "I just... wanted to thank you. For that day. And also... I'm sorry if I caused you any trouble."
Woojin softened a bit. "It's okay. Just try to be safe and don't stay hidden when they harm you. Stand up for yourself." He gave her a small, encouraging smile.
She handed him a box of brownies. "My mom made these. She wanted to thank you."
Woojin accepted them with a nod. "Thank you. And remember, fight back if they bother you again."
She nodded, a small smile forming on her lips. "Thanks, Woojin. You're a good person."
Woojin smiled back. "No problem. And, uh, if you ever need help, you know where to find me."
With that, she hurried off, leaving Woojin standing there, feeling a mix of confusion and satisfaction. He returned to Minho, who was waiting with a knowing grin.
"What was that all about?" Minho asked, nudging Woojin.
"Nothing, just... clearing some misunderstandings," Woojin replied, shaking his head. "Come on, let's get to class before we're late."
"Aww, did she say woojin oh my protector thank you for protecting me, you are my prince Charming" Minho exclaimed dramatically.
Woojin hit his head, "I told you to stop watching dramas".shaking his head. "Come on, let's get to class before we're late."
