Chapter Text

Satoru hasn't felt like the strongest in a long time. It's a feeling Satoru used to confide in Suguru about, in hushed whispers with silent tears late at night, but now Satoru finds he'd sooner die than ever let the words spill out of his lips again.

Suguru doesn't know; he doesn't have a single clue. The way Suguru's voice that disparages and hands that seek to hurt both sing of pride in his ability to have the strongest sorcerer helpless below him is something Satoru finds both relief and despair in. The only person to ever read Satoru like an open book barely even knows him anymore.

That village may have been spared all those years ago, back in their third year of high school. But Suguru still died that night.

Whoever it is that Satoru spends his days with and wakes up in the morning to is not the same Suguru he knew, but it's the only Suguru he has.

Suguru is angry, constantly. Satoru knows this. Satoru may have talked him down from damning himself to the fate of a curse user but that did nothing to quell the fire of resentment in his heart. He resents the non-sorcerers who create more and more curses without a care in the world. He resents Satoru for doing nothing about it, idle power content with trying to rebuild the jujutsu world from the ground up. A useless endeavour in Suguru's eyes.

Like everything else the upper echelon hates and fears, Suguru eventually becomes Satoru's problem. Okkotsu Yuta was dangerous, so Satoru tamed him. Geto Suguru is dangerous, so Satoru tries to tame him. He encourages Suguru to teach the new generation with him, but Suguru hates it, because the forced proximity with the Zen'in girl makes him want to vomit.

The only good thing about it is being able to teach his two little girls, the ones he rescued all those years ago. Suguru keeps them far away from the Zen'in girl, and when Satoru offers to help teach them, he just laughs mockingly.

When it becomes obvious giving Suguru a distraction in the form of teaching is not working, and the nights of sitting at the end of their bed pleading with him to share what's on his mind so Satoru can help are completely fruitless, Satoru almost wants to give up. He can't tell how his lover is feeling, and Suguru won't tell him.

Until one night Satoru pleads once again for Suguru to just let him help, and something in Suguru snaps.

It's always been difficult for Satoru to keep up his Infinity around Suguru, subconsciously always craving the man's touch. So when Suguru grabs him by the neck and slams him against the dresser, wooden handles digging into Satoru's spine, he's completely defenceless.
