Skyler continued to pursue the enemy while Jack continued to narrow the distance between them. Skyler was occupied with running until she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her foot. The pain was so intense that she couldn't help but cry. Jack approached Skyler as he noticed her distress. Concerned, he asked her what was wrong. Skyler, in agony, yelled that her foot was hurting. Jack offered to examine it and proceeded to remove her shoes to inspect her ankle. As he touched her ankle, Skyler winced in pain. Jack reassured her that he would find someone to assess the injury, calling her "baby girl." With his assistance, Jack helped Skyler to stand up. They find out that Mac is the target. They head back to the Phoenix Foundation.
