Dear Barbara,
You didn't read wrongly, Barbara, Barbara Villavicente. I know this name is very unfamiliar to you and it doesn't bring any meaning to you but that was your name, the name that given by our parents before you were adopted and changed it to Caitlin Viray.
You don't know about me but I know who you are. Please give me a few minutes and continue to read this letter. Please believe me that this wasn't a scam. I'm writing this letter is to tell you that, I'm your sister, your elder sister. We are having the same blood that flowed inside our body.
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hide this from you because I only know about your existence when our mother passed away one month ago. She told me about you before her last breath. She said she left you at an orphanage home when you were just a baby.
I went to the orphanage home that you stayed before and I was lucky that they found your adopted parent's address and gave it to me. I've considered for a long time before I have the courage to write this letter to you.
I know there are a lot of questions that you wouldn't understand after reading this letter. You might hate our mother for giving you away. Why you but not me? I don't know. I wish I could answer your confusion. I wish to meet you in person and know more about you. But I won't force you. I know how it feels when a sudden secret revealed like this.
That is my address written on the envelope of this letter. If you want to find out the truth behind this secret, I wish you will come to see me. I'll wait for you.
Love,
Catherine
The taxi driver said.
Caitlin looked out the window before she turned back to the taxi driver. "Malayot po sa City etong lugar na to?" She asked.
"Oo Miss. Mga taong nakatira dito mayayaman." The taxi driver replied.
Caitlin nodded her head as she paid the driver before she stepped out of the taxi. She took a deep breath before walking towards the big white house that was about 100 meters away from her. Just then, she was startled by a nice white luxury car that stopped in front of her, blocking her way. She saw a small little boy at around 8 to 10 years old get out of the car with a nervous expression, running towards her.
"Mommy!"
Before Caitlin could react, the little boy already wrapped his tiny arms tightly around her waist. Her eyes widened in shock as she tried to push the little boy away to take a clearer look at her. But his strength was very strong and he was hugging her very tightly, doesn't want to let go.
"Mommy, where have you been? I miss you very much." The little boy said as she started to cry.
Caitlin totally confused with the situation and when she was about to tell him that she wasn't his mother, a tall woman that came out of the car caught her attention. She was very tall and handsome but her facial expression was scary. She was cold and looked angry.
Bea De Leon walked towards them as her eyes were staring straight into her eyes. That gaze was cold and stern. It makes Caitlin's heartbeat raced and felt uncomfortable.
"Mommy, I have been waiting for you every day. I did behave when you are not around. I did listen to Dada and Nanay Celia. I go to school every day and finish my meal every day." The little boy said in between sobs.
Caitlin became more confused now as she looked up at the woman in front of her again. "I... he... you..." She doesn't know what to say. She was too shocked. She doesn't understand why a girl as big as her will mistaken a wrong person as his mother.
"Let's go." Bea said coldly.
Caitlin looked at her in disbelief. "Go where? Who are you?"
Bea's eyes darkened. "Who am I? You don't even recognize your own spouse now? You are unbelievable." She said through gritted teeth.
"Mommy, let's go home." The little boy pulled away from her and grasped on her hand tightly, pulling her to the car.
"No. Listen to me. I think we have a misunderstanding here. I'm not..." Caitlin stopped at mid-sentence as she inhaled deeply before she looked at Bea again. "Can we talk?"
"Not now. I don't want to fight with you in front of Argus." Bea replied curtly. She didn't give her another chance to protest and grasped Caitlin's arm roughly, pulling her towards the car.
"Hey! What are you doing? Let go of me." Caitlin screamed.
Bea stopped her steps as her eyes daggered at her with hatred. "Don't act like you are the victim here. I hate you as much as you did."
Caitlin gasped in pain when her grip on her arm tightened. She just wishes someone could explain to her what is happening here.
