1x07 'old bones'

THE HOURS TICKED BY METICULOUSLY AS AISLIN SAT IN THE CHARMING GAZETTE OFFICE. The only humour in the work day being Faith holding Mary the Guinea Pig as she worked.

"Is this an ethical business practice?" Aislin asks amused, watching Mary putter about Faith's desk, slowly moving onto hers.

"What? It's not like she's working."
"Hygiene" Aislin points out
"We cook stories, not food. Besides, she likes being close to me. I think she knows I'm pregnant"
"Getting jealous maybe?" Aislin offers
"Nah. Once this kids in the world and the government releases a vaccine to make guinea pigs lifespan increase, they'll be BFF's"

Aislin snickers, picking up Mary and holding her, thumb stroking idly across her brown and white fur. The only big news was the human bones they found off of highway eighteen, which you would think required more time, but given the unknown details, it was a relatively short story. Aislin was waiting to Faith to edit, watching her cut things from the shared document, her gaze only drawn away as her phone rings idly on the desk. She snaps it open with one hand.

"Hello?" She says into the phone

"Yo. It's me, what are you up to right now?" Juice's voice comes through the phone. Aislin snickers once again at his choice of greeting.

"Yo. I've got a guinea pig on my chest right now" Aislin replies, beaming. There's a brief pause before Juice speaks again,

"That's not like...a sex metaphor, is it?" Juice asks. Aislin's scoffs.
"If it were I doubt I'd tell you about it" she replies with a chuckle as she shifts Mary back onto the desk gently,
"Right, right. Look, I'm hungry, I'm bored. Club doesn't need me, they're all out doing there own things."
"Glad to see I'm your...like, eighth choice" she chuckles.
"Ash!" Juice groans dramatically "please. There's nothing to do in this town, and you did say you missed me."
"Did I say that? Must've been drunk...fine, you're lucky it's a slow news day. Want me to stop by the garage?"
"Nah, I'll come grab you. Wanna get out for a ride anyway. I'll be there in like, five, not even"
"I'll listen for the Harley. See you soon, Juice"
"Bye, Ash. See ya soon"

Faith's raised brow, otherwise neutral expression finds Aislin, who looks like a kid caught with their hand in the cookie drawer.

"I thought you were staying away from him" Faith says, pointedly, hands stilling on her keys.
"Romantically, I am" Aislin replies with a little shrug, not suading her friends disbelieving look
"You're going to lunch...just the two of you." Faith states
"You're listening to my personal calls now?" Aislin asks lightheartedly
"You sit four feet away from me, if that" Faith replies, leaning back in her chair and crossing her arms "Ash, he has head tattoos. He's a Son. Your dad won't like it. You don't even know if you really like him. He has head tattoos" She says, throwing every excuse she could think of at the girl. Aislin sighs, knowing it's all true, her chin resting on her hand.

"We're friends Faith. I need more friends than just you and Mary. One of you don't even speak!" Aislin protests
"You don't want to be friends. You're brain is so fried from over exposure to the Sons that you see someone in the kutte and think it's a safe space you can make babies in!" Faith quips back.

Aislin's brows raise, her eyes flickering down to Faith's stomach, still yet to be showing.

"Don't" Faith warns. Aislin raises her hands defensively.
"I didn't say anything!"
"You were thinking it!" Faith replies pointedly, watching the girl stand and shrug her purse over her shoulder, a small smile on her face.
