'Thoughts'
"Speech"

October 31st, 1981

It was a cold, quiet night on Godric's Hallow. The streets were empty and calm. Until a sharp crack was heard and a figure appeared. He had a long white beard, and a strange cloak that seemed to have moving pictures.

After a moment he began walking towards a home near the end of the road, hidden from the view of most. As he approached he felt the wards around him signal his arrival to  the owners, but continued nonetheless. He was on good terms with the owners and would just obliviate them after he was done. 'That damned prophecy.' He thought as he reached the door, 'How could a mere child have the power to defeat him! He was Albus Dumbledore! The greatest wizard since Merlin!'

After a moment he took a calming breath and knocked on the door. He was soon met with the smiling face of James Potter. One of his most trusted pawns. He had been using the idiot for years stealing away bits of his donations to the order.

"Hello professor, how can I help you today?" James asked, wondering what had prompted such a visit so late into the night. Lily had just put the twins down for the night. James was hoping the could throw up a few silencing charms and get reacquainted with each other. They haven't been able to get both of them to sleep this easily in a while.

"Well James my boy. I just had a few things to discuss with you and Lily. Would you mind if I come in?"

"No, not at all Headmaster. But could you quiet down? Lily just got the twins to sleep and we don't want to wake them up."

"Of course, of course. This shouldn't take more than a few minutes, my boy" the Headmaster obviously thought this was going to be a simple matter. Get in, knock out the parents, go to the twins room and see which one had the bigger core. After that it would be a simple matter of killing the more powerful one and changing Lily l and James' memories to think that Tom was the one that broke in.

What he failed to notice was that Tom or as he was more commonly known Lord Voldemort, was already at the site. He had to had heard the prophecy, seeing as he was in the Hog's Head when the prophecy was spoken. He knew that one of those children would be the love of his life, his mate. He'd be damned if Dumbledore take them from him before he even knew their name.

As soon as Dumbledore entered the home and the door was closed, he shot a stunner at James. He fell to the ground, motionless instantly. He could hear faint words that sound med something like, "James are you ok?" After a few moments he began walking up the stairs and toward the nursery where he saw Lily standing over one of the cribs that held a child. Before Lily had a chance to react, he'd shot a stunner at her as well. He added a cushioning charm to the floor right before she broke her nose on the hardwood. She was a very useful pawn after all, it'd be a shame for her to be injured while he stills has uses for her.

As he walked towards the crib he felt the twins cores to see which was more likely to be the cause of his downfall. Immediately he felt a powerful force mixed either something else but just as soon as he felt it, the force was gone. He was shocked for a moment but tried again. Their cores were a bit above average for children their age admittedly but nothing that would make them pose a threat to him. He decided he should kill both of them, just to be safe.

He reached for the Elder Wand but stopped when the door to the nursery was blasted open by none other than Tom himself.

"I can't let you do this Albus! You won't take my mate from me if I have a say in it!"

At this point the twins had woken up, and while one was crying because of the loud noises the other was completely clam with a knowing look in his eyes.
