The Smallest of Moments

I had found out a day later that Belle had actually been keeping the ring for me at the shop. She was waiting for me to realize that I wanted to marry Emma and go to get a ring. I think back on it now and I know that she knew before I did. She knew that Emma was my happily ever after.

(Another flashback begins)

"Darling, give me a hand," Hook said as he attempted to put on a long sleeved T-shirt. He had one arm in but was struggling to get his head and other arm.

"Ha," Emma said with a straight face. She went over to him and took the edge of the shirt. "Is this what you needed me for?" She pulled it over his head and wrapped the loose sleeve around him.

"Uh, no..." He fumbled at the shirt with his hand but found he couldn't do much without being able to see.

Emma laughed and helped him put it on properly. "I'm sorry."

"You don't look it."

She shrugged and kissed his cheek. Then she went back to making the bed.

He watched her and realized that they've just had a moment. He couldn't recall anyone whom he's had a joking matter like that with other than Emma.

Snapping out of his daze, he went to the other side of the bed and helped her.

(Flashback ends)

That was probably when I knew I'd never love anyone else. Emma was my future. Without her, I wouldn't be able to function. I wouldn't be able to comprehend the value of life.

Of course, we had our bad days, but those were nothing. On occasion we'd have a silent dispute about something from our pasts and get over it within the week.

The real trouble with our relationship wasn't with us. It was with everyone else. Charming and Snow weren't so supportive of our relationship. The only ones who didn't do or say anything against us was Henry and the baby, Neal.
