"When are we going back to Jamaica? That was so much fun." I ask khadeen as we walked around the mall.
She was too busy looking for her next stop to engage in a real conversation with me. I have a lot on my mind. This whole secret relationship with Chido is weighing heavily on me. But I have no desire to end it any time soon.
Chido has been talking about actually being in a relationship. Being committed again really scares me. The last man I let have my heart in that way, completely broke it. One day he wanted to marry me and the next day he just wanted to leave. I'm still trying to figure out if it was my fault or not.
"Oh Sephora." Kay said making me roll my eyes.
"Do we have to?"
"Yes." She simply responded.
We walked into the store and started looking around.
"I've been thinking about going to Paris with Devale? Just to plan something special." Kay told me.
"That sounds fun." I said softly. "And romantic."
"If you had a boo we could make it a double baecation." She suggested.
"I don't want a boo." I said rolling my eyes.
"I think you already have one you're just being secretive." She said side eying me.
"Maybe I do maybe I don't." I shrugged my shoulders.
I want to talk to my sister about Chido and I but now isn't the right time. Plus, I don't want Devale to get mad at Chido. It'll be like a best friend dating a brother's little sister.
"What's the big deal? Just tell me!" Khadeen whined like a baby.
"Im just joking he's nobody." I said moving my hair as my phone buzzed.
I took a Quick Look at it.
Rude Boy Chee wya?
"Oh that must be nobody." Khadeen sarcastically murmured.
"Hm, be quiet." I said to her.
"Tell me about him." Khadeen egged me on.
I side eyed her as I responded to Chido's text.
At the mall with Kay Wsp?
"Hm okay, he's tall, dark and handsome-"
"That's your type of course." Khadeen said sounding fed up.
I rolled my eyes and continued talking.
"He's really kind and sweet, he buys me candy when he goes grocery shopping. Oh and he's funny, he says the weirdest things but they always make me laugh.." I said smiling at my phone.
