His demeanor suggested that he wasn't used to women standing up to him, and I could see the annoyance on his face as I continued to challenge him. But I didn't give in, my determination only growing stronger.

"Why are you agreeing for this , just curiosity?" he asked raising his bow

"Well if not you then someone else" I said bluntly, my voice laced with resignation . "To me you seem powerful , my father will arrange it with  someone else probably not powerful like you and I like to be on the side where power lies"

Eiden glanced at me, his expression serious. "So this is about power for you?" he asked, his voice laced with curiosity.  I met his gaze, refusing to back down.  "Of course it is," I replied. "Why else would I agree to a marriage that I have no interest in, except for the fact that it will bring me more power and influence?  He studied me for a moment, his eyes narrowing as if trying to decipher my true motivations. "You really are something, Miss Westwood," he said finally, a hint of amusement in his tone. "Most people would be running away from a forced marriage, but you seem almost eager to accept the arrangement."

I shrugged nonchalantly, hiding the fact the his observation had affected me. "I'm not most people," I replied, trying to sound confident. "I'm not afraid to embrace opportunities, even if they come with difficult stipulations. Power and influence are worth the sacrifice, in my opinion."

Eiden chuckled at my words, clearly amused by my bluntness. "You certainly have a unique perspective," he said, leaning back in his chair. "I suppose it's refreshing to meet someone who's not afraid to admit that they value power above all else."   I felt a pang of irritation at his condescending tone, but I kept it hidden, refusing to let him see how much his words had annoyed me. "And what's wrong with wanting power," I retorted, not backing down from the conversation.

Eiden smiled at my response, clearly enjoying the banter. "Oh, I never said there was anything wrong with it," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "In fact, I almost admire your unapologetic desire for power. It's a quality that's unfortunately rare in this world."   Eiden chuckled, shaking his head slightly. "You are a fascinating woman, Miss Westwood," he said. "I must admit, I look forward to seeing what other surprises you have in store."

I raised an eyebrow, trying to decipher his words. Was he genuinely interested in me, or was he just playing a game? "I'm sure I have plenty of surprises in store," I said with a shrug. "But you'll the one who might suffer the most in playing this game of our".

Eiden chuckled again, clearly enjoying our little back-and-forth. "I have a feeling I won't be disappointed," he said, his gaze still fixed on me. "You're certainly not the type to be predictable."

"I'll try to keep things interesting, then," I said, my voice laced with a hint of sarcasm. "Can't have you getting bored, now can we?

Eiden gave me a sly smile, clearly enjoying our banter. "Oh, I doubt boring is something I'll ever feel around you," he said, his gaze still locked on me. "You're too intriguing for that." Is he mocking me ?

"I'm glad you find me so interesting," I said, keeping my tone light and casual. "But don't get too attached, Mr. Rosevelt. I'm not the type to be easily won over."

Eiden chuckled once again, clearly amused by my words. "Oh, I never said I was looking to win you over," he said, his gaze still fixed on me. "But it's hard not to be intrigued by someone like you. You're a mystery, Miss Westwood, and I do love a good mystery."
