CHAPTER THREE
the ultimate quest
to get a partner"I want to get a friend."
In the long and extravagant dining table with only three chairs occupied, M/n spoke his first words this evening after sulking the entire day. His sudden words cut through his parents' conversation, immediately grappling their attention as they turned towards their heir and only child.
"Oh, M/n dear. I'll find the best people your age all around the city and invite them over for lunch tomorrow, how does that sound?" His mother cooed. "Would you like to visit the Michelin 3-star restaurant by the sea? I'll give them a call right now."
"Mom, I don't mean ordinary friends." M/n shook his head, sighing as he placed his heavy utensils down with his untouched lobster. "I mean those special kind of friends, like a girlfriend or a boyfriend."
"A lover?" She gasped, quite taken aback.
The male nodded firmly. "I talked to my therapist about my loneliness, and she suggested an idea that maybe I'm at the phase in life where I should be dating someone."
"But, Son. You're still 18, you still have a long way to go! I married your father when I was 30."
"I don't want to be old in my wedding photos." M/n frowned.
"You could of said so sooner—but there really is no rush in marrying." His father spoke up, dabbing the corner of his mouth gracefully with a white cloth. "We're not forcing you to bring someone here immediately."
"I know. But I feel lonely, I think it's about time I start dating someone."
"I have many connections. I can call them to have you introduced." His father informed. "There's that girl who's my Chinese business partner's sole daughter, Vivi, I believe."
"I want to be able to communicate with them freely."
"Then, Mr. Chairman Choi's heiress? Crystal. A beautiful and intelligent young girl who'll suit you perfectly!"
M/n frowned, of course he knew Crystal—seeing as their fathers were somewhat involved in business and trades, he's seen and talked to her a couple of times. She wasn't exactly someone who enjoyed the same things he does. Though she tries to keep their conversations going, she simply didn't share the same interests or enthusiasm.
"She's too uptight." He waved off. "You need not to worry, I already assigned myself a personal wingman to help me find the one!"
"And, pray tell, who has my son assigned to be his wingman?"
"Kim Joon Goo." M/n stated with all confidence, as though the name of his friend was enough to bring honor and pride.
