Part 10

Sooo, guess who's back?
You were probably wondering where I went, or maybe not (shame on you).
I would have published earlier if I hadn't accidentally deleted the entire ending by accident :/
To be honest, I have no idea what I wrote down so I'm just gonna come up with something new.

Music stars to fade. The melodic sounds of various instruments (which I hope you imagined accompanying the musical number) went quiet, leaving the spotlight on a certain elder blonde.

Finally it dawned on him. His ambition had blinded him.

Taking another path than the one in mind musn't be quitting.

He failed to adapt.

The lamb sauce might have been the key to success in the past.

But this is the present.

No lambs, no sauce, but new challenges to create without these.

If it were the other way around, would the boy have done the same?

Or would he have realised and won...

It was negligible now anyways.

Defeat and victory, merely defined by happiness and despair.

Surprisingly there was no remorse within him.

Some mistakes have to be made. How else could we ever learn?

Regret is nothing but character development.

And boy did his character develop.

But that was okay. Everything was.

Even the bits of crushing jealousy he felt towards the boy were gone.

Some feelings can be so deceiving.

Telling you to be something you never can.

Demanding to change yourself until you fit.

Making you chase dreams you'll never reach.

As soon as you reach your limit. They tell you you gave up. Blaming you for listening to their advice.

But the pain you feel after letting go just tells you that you didn't waste your time.

All you can do is learn.

Give your best.

One day it will be enough.

*weeks later*

„Hey blondie, on your left"

„hyah!"

Finally even the last creature was down.

Both ran towards the treasure chest that magically opened.

„More arrows!" He shouted happily while the boy was coping with the pain from kicking the chest open barefoot.
