Everything seemed like a dream for Jeongguk. He couldn't believe he was marrying the love of his life in just a few hours. Being an internationally famous idol and getting married at the age of 28 to the man he had never ever dreamed of falling in love with is insane for Jeongguk.
"What's wrong?" Jeongguk asked as Hoseok entered the room where he was getting ready.
"The groom is missing," Hoseok said, looking genuinely concerned.
"What?" Jeongguk asked, frowning. "Hyung, seriously, not funny."
"Jeongguk-ah, his friend Yoongi just called. They can't find him anywhere. Apparently, he was panicking a lot about something," Hoseok explained.
Jeongguk let out a sigh of relief, shaking his head. "That's it? Shit, hyung, you scared me for a minute. I'll take care of it. It's okay. I know where he'll be." Jeongguk left the room, his heart pounding with concern and determination.
Kim Seokjin, Jeongguk's absolute dorky, introverted, and hot boyfriend, was someone he met four years ago during a music video shoot at one of Seokjin's properties. Seokjin, a 35-year-old self-made businessman in Korea, knew nothing but business and work. He had only two best friends and knew nothing about the entertainment industry or anything else outside his business realm. He was the complete opposite of Jeongguk's personality and the type of man he typically preferred.
Yet here he was, walking through the hallway of their wedding mansion, looking for his panicked fiancé.
Their first meeting had been chaotic for Jeongguk. They had scheduled a shoot in a newly constructed mall for a music video. All contracts were signed for the three-day shoot, but at the last minute, Jeongguk was notified that the shoot was canceled because the owner of the place, Kim Seokjin, had revoked the permission.
Jeongguk was furious. The album release date was approaching, and he needed to finish the music video on time. The building had captured Jeongguk's eye, and he thought it would be perfect for the shoot.
"Sorry, Jeongguk-ah. I didn't think the owner would pull something like this. It seems like the team didn't inform him about the shoot because he left all the overseeing authority to the COO of the company, and that COO, Kim Taehyung, happens to be your biggest fan," his manager Hoseok explained.
"Did he give any reason for the cancellation?" Jeongguk asked, his frustration evident.
"His assistant said the chairman wants to inspect the building today before the opening. It's a new structure, and the mall is opening in a few days. He's adamant about not letting anyone in on the day of his visit," Hoseok replied.
"Shit. Is it possible for me to meet the chairman and talk to him? Maybe I can convince him, hyung? You know, no one can resist this face," Jeongguk said, attempting a reassuring smile.
"Oh please, they gave us only fifteen minutes to vacate before he arrives because he's that strict," Hoseok said, shaking his head.
"Hmmm," Jeongguk muttered, deep in thought.
"Don't even think about doing anything stupid," Hoseok warned, eyes narrowing.
"Don't worry, hyung. I'm not. Let's go," Jeongguk said. But he had already decided to stay back at the mall, escaping from his manager to confront the chairman about ruining his shoot. He sent a text to Hoseok, asking him not to look for him, and then turned off his phone. Determined, he started searching for the office in the vast, luxurious, and eerily quiet mall.
Jeongguk knew little about Seokjin except that he was a wealthy businessman with numerous properties across Korea. He had never seen him before. After about half an hour of searching, Jeongguk heard footsteps approaching. He quickly ducked into a nearby room to hide.
