Jeongguk was a simple guy, or at least that’s how he liked to think of himself. His life wasn’t flashy or complicated, but it was everything he’d ever wanted. He had a job he was passionate about…his work as a tattoo artist was more than just a profession. It was an art form, an expression of creativity that he poured his heart into every day. Owning a small studio in the heart of the city was a dream come true. It wasn’t the biggest or the most famous, but it was his, filled with the hum of tattoo machines and the scent of ink, a place where he could bring his clients visions to life, one design at a time.

His studio was his pride and joy, a cozy space with walls adorned with sketches, photos of completed tattoos, and the occasional doodle left by satisfied customers. It was a sanctuary where he could lose himself in his work, a place that reflected his personality…warm, welcoming, and a little rough around the edges.

Jeongguk’s personal life was just as fulfilling. He had a one-bedroom apartment, modest in size but perfectly comfortable, nestled in a decent neighborhood where he knew the faces of his neighbors and the shop owners down the street. It was the kind of place where the coffee shop barista remembered your order, and the dry cleaner always had a smile ready. The apartment, with its mismatched furniture and walls decorated with a mix of art and Polaroid memories, was a reflection of the life he had built…unpretentious, full of character, and filled with love.

But what truly made Jeongguk’s life complete was his boyfriend. His absolutely amazing adorable boyfriend who completed his world. As a 28 year old, his life was good, and Jeongguk was happy.

“Kia, can you close the studio today?” Jeongguk asked as he carefully placed a sketchbook filled with new designs into his bag, his movements deliberate yet unhurried.

Kia, his assistant and a part-time tattoo artist who had been with him almost since the studio’s opening, looked up from the design she was working on. Kia was a woman with brightly colored hair that seemed to change with the seasons, and a personality that was as vibrant as her tattoos. Her creativity and sharp wit had made her an invaluable part of the studio, and Jeongguk trusted her completely with the place.

“No problem, boss,” Kia replied with a playful salute, her tattoo machine humming quietly in the background. “You know I’ve got this.” She flashed him a grin, her fingers still expertly working on the intricate design that was taking shape on her client’s skin.

Jeongguk chuckled, a deep, warm sound that filled the studio. “Alright, I’m heading out then.” He slung his bag over his shoulder, the familiar weight of it settling comfortably as he adjusted the strap. He cast a quick glance around the studio, a habit he couldn’t shake, making sure everything was in order before leaving. The walls, covered in artwork and photos, seemed to look back at him, a testament to the countless hours he’d spent here.

Kia noticed his lingering gaze and couldn’t help but ask, “Special day?” There was a knowing twinkle in her eye as she raised an eyebrow, sensing there was more to his early departure than just wanting to clock out.

Jeongguk paused, a small, almost secretive smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he turned back to face her. “Very special,” he admitted, a hint of excitement in his voice. “But the boyfriend I’ve been living with for three years doesn’t seem to have a clue about it.”

Kia’s curiosity was piqued. “Anniversary?” she guessed, her tone light but genuinely interested. She leaned back slightly in her chair, pausing her work for a moment.
