"K. Mission, A flashback"

"What?! They're sending you to a special grade mission?! No way are you going! You're only a third grade!"
Her third-year senior, Gojo Satoru yelled, crossing his arms in disapproval.

She lifted her head and stared at him with a nonchalant expression. "I'm a second grade sorcerer." She corrected.

"Huh? But.. you're a first year.." Her senior mumbled, leaning down, poking her forehead.

Irking, she swatted his hand away.
"You we're a special grade when you we're a second year, how is this different?" She grumbled.

"Hey! That's because I'm the strongest, you know?" He bragged confidently as she rolled her eyes at her senior's antics.

"I'm still going." She said.

"Why?!" Her senior protested.

"Because mister Misamichi told me so." She answered.

"I'm coming with you then!" Her senior said, sitting down on the bench beside her.

"Mister Nanami is already my partner." She bluntly said.

"Huh?! You're together?! Since when?!" He senior practically yelled in surprise and disbelief, making her irk.

"I meant for this mission." She grumbled.

"Oh." Gojo calmed down, relaxing in his seat in relief.

"Well, that's good. But it's still not enough to keep you safe! It's better if I am the one who comes with you." Gojo grinned, pointing at himself with his thumb as imaginary sparkles appeared behind him.

"No thanks." She bluntly rejected, making him pale and freeze like a statue.

"Mister Gojo?" She called out, pointing his forehead. When she didn't get a response, she sweatdropped and stood up, slowly walking away.

"Mister Nanami, did I keep you waiting?" She asked, adjusting the straps the attached her sword to her hips.

"No, and I told you to stop calling me that." Nanami said, with his hands on his pocket.

"Are you ready?" He asked nonchalantly. In response, she nodded and followed him out of the campus.

As they walked through the crowded streets of Tokyo, they made their way to the train station.

"Is something bothering you, Kaori?"
Nanami asked as they walked side by side.

"I was just wondering if this mission will cause us any trouble.." she muttered softly as they entered the station, standing near the corner as they waited for their train.

"Don't worry. It'll only cloud your judgement." Nanami said after a long pause before glancing at her in the corner of his eyes.

"Right.." she muttered, slightly relaxing.

"Still.. I don't understand why they would send two second grade sorcerers on a case like this.."
She thought to herself

"Attention please, attention please. This is the final boarding call for passengers traveling on the Tokaido Shinkansen departing from platform 2. All passengers are kindly requested to board the train immediately as the train will be departing shortly."

They heard a voice from the speaker echo as they boarded the train, sitting next to each other.

"Not to mention that the mission is located in Osaka.. I don't understand why they couldn't send someone from Kyoto to take care of it.." she thought to herself as she leaned back on her seat, ignoring the weirded out looks strangers sent her because of her dark energy.
