Mother was kind when I'd finished telling her of what I'd seen that evening. She believed me, either by the shock still on my face or by the fact that I willingly allowed Carl to take me home. Either way, she refused to let me do any chores and made me sit down with a cup of hot tea.

I didn't mention that the dead body they found had also attacked me last night.

The two of us had a pleasant night nonetheless, still deciding to celebrate the success of my new part time job over a home cooked meal. When it was nearing bed time, I excused myself to go and take a bath.

I found myself thinking of Alastor as I lay there soaking in the tub. We'd shared a strange moment today in the studio. It wasn't something I'd experienced before with anyone, not even Carl. The way he gazed at me so intently with those dark eyes. The intoxicating scent of him that filled my mind. He'd made me nervous, I realised. I closed my eyes now, remembering the feeling, and found my fingertips brushing down my stomach, reaching lower...

My body relaxed into my touch. I caressed the delicate heat between my legs, thinking again about how Alastor made me feel earlier. My mind swam with images of him; his smile, his face, his lips. What was he doing to me? Whatever it was, I liked it. My fingers exploded more of myself, pushing in and out and drawing circles around the sensitive area. I wondered what it would feel like, if it were him touching me this way...

When I was done soaking, I dried myself and slipped on my robe. That was enough fantasising, I'd decided. There was no use pondering on things that would never happen. I wasn't even sure if I wanted it to happen.

I stepped into my bedroom, more than ready to climb into bed and forget about tonight.
I flicked on the bedside light and started pulling the blankets away. It was nearing midnight now.

But then something began tapping on my window. Like a branch being knocked by the wind, over and over again. Annoyed, I went to investigate.

When I drew back the curtains, I got a fright. He was there, stood by the window, gently knocking on it.

"Alastor!" I hissed as I opened the window, startled by his sudden appearance.

"Sorry! Didn't mean to scare you," he grinned. But then his smile dropped. "Are you alright? Your cab came but you were already gone..."

"Yes, I'm fine... it's a long story. You'd better come in," I whispered.

I opened the window as wide as I could and he effortlessly climbed through, his lean body annoyingly graceful. We then sat on my bed together. He'd been in my room many times before, but the atmosphere this time was somber as I told him what I'd witnessed. He stayed quiet and thoughtful while he listened to my story, frowning when I got to the part about the body.

"How do you feel now, knowing that he's dead?" He asked calmly when I was done explaining.

I was taken aback by the strange question. "I don't know, Alastor. I've just seen a dead body, I have no idea what I'm feeling!" I sniffed as the horrid image flashed through my mind again. The cold, dead stare of him would be engraved on my brain forever. I dropped my head into my hands.

"Shh, shh, it's ok. I'm sorry you had to see that." He murmured, his hand rubbing up and down my back.

My face grew hot as I remembered thinking about him in the bath. His hand was sending new tingles down my spine.

"Do you want me to stay tonight?" He asked quietly.

I looked up and nodded slowly, not ready for him to leave. His warm chocolate eyes gazed into mine.

"Ok." He whispered, climbing to the top of the bed.

He pulled the blankets over us and we lay down on our sides. I faced away from him and his arm wrapped around me protectively, holding me close. I felt my heart rate picking up, he'd never held me this way before, and underneath the covers no less. Scandalous. I flicked off the small light, plunging us in darkness, but the electricity between us hummed even louder. I was extremely aware that his arm was resting on my  stomach.
