Areven

Caelia's small hand on his chest had every muscle in his body tensing at the lovely contact to his skin. Her hand wasn't cold anymore, and the gentle skin to skin contact was such a contrast compared to his last few days where any time someone touched him, it was to hurt him.

The tiny nymph in his arms looked up at him with excited, jade green eyes, waiting for him to respond to her but he was gritting his teeth at the way his body wanted to react. He had been doing a damn good job of reminding himself that there was no way in hell Caelia would be receptive to his advances right now, not with the position she was in with Victor, but his body had other ideas.

Other ideas that noticed that he had a beyond beautiful, scantily clad nymph completely relaxed in his arms, on his lap, with her ass right on his cock. Not a good situation so he bit the inside of his cheek, hard, in a hope to get his body under control. Caelia trusted him, and the absolute last thing he wanted was to scare her or ever make her feel unsafe with him.

''Are you okay?'' She was frowning now, and started to remove her palm. Areven quickly snatched it, covering it to keep it where it was. ''What do you mean, not for you?'' He asked, somehow managing to keep his voice level.

She relaxed again, but that excited gleam to her eyes never left. She explained everything to him, and what she revealed had his heart pounding with adrenaline already. This could work. This could really work if we play it right. They hatched their plan, talking over the next hour before they finalized it and told it to Moulin who would get it to the other prisoners.

Caelia had a small, hopeful smile and Areven was tense as a live wire, not only with her still in his lap, but that they had a viable plan.

''We should get some sleep while we can,'' He said, feeling her forehead, which was only a little colder than his hand and her shivers had stopped. ''It looks like you're risk of hypothermia has passed, so you should be fine to go to sleep.''

Caelia immediately nodded and then a huge yawn escaped her, making him yawn too and she stifled a giggle before leaning against him and closing her eyes. Within minutes, her breathing evened out and Areven felt a strange tug in his chest.

The little creature in his arms trusted him enough to fall right asleep in his arms. That kind of trust made him feel powerful, and the urge to care for and protect her rolled over him even harder.

He tightened his arms around her, pressing a small kiss to her forehead. ''We're gonna get out of here, sweetheart.'' He promised. ''And I won't let anything happen to you.''

A small pain went through him when he thought about after they got out. Once they were free, he'd likely never see Caelia again.

It was so strange, because he hadn't known her for more than a few days, but he was inexplicably drawn to her, and she seemed to be too.

He could only wonder if the gods were trying to tell him something.

It doesn't matter what happens after we escape, as long as we do escape and I can continue onto my mission and make up for lost time. My mission comes first. My people have to come first, not my own needs and wants.

He reluctantly closed his eyes, resting his head back against the wall. Everything was about to change. For better or worse...they could only hope.

''Areven! Cae! Get up!'' Moulin hissed.

Loud shouting and the pound of footsteps jolted Areven awake. He rapidly blinked and shook his head, fighting off the lingering effects of sleep. He frowned when a small weight registered in his lap. He looked down and his mouth dropped open.
