Caelia

Every prisoner rammed open their cell door and spilled out, charging the guards. They were outnumbered, but had protective gear and weapons. It wasn't so much as a match for the men who were filled with hatred and vengeance as they burst free from their cells.

Caelia rose and locked eyes with Areven who stood at the other end of the prison. He didn't have to speak, his eyes ordered her with one silent word. Run.

So she did.

She whipped around and just barely dodged Jude's sword. He snarled and Caelia hissed back. Dredging up her depleted power, she summoned a ball of fire between her hands and hurled it right at Jude.

Flames enveloped him and he shrieked, staggering back into cell bars. She rushed past him and heard more of his screams, her fire hadn't been strong enough to last long beyond the fuel it was given, but she wasn't concerned. When she looked back, she saw the gnome tackle Jude to the ground and rain punches on the man. The fae joined him and ripped a knife off Jude before stabbing him in any place he could get access to.

It was a bloody sight, with many of the other guards meeting the same fate, but Caelia didn't feel an ounce of guilt when all of the guards had repeatedly tortured the males of the prison and kept her in a perpetual state of fear and anxiety.

Without a second look back, Caelia ran up the stairs. She burst out into a small foyer and turned into the first doorway on the right. It was a small sitting room with a large bay window at the far wall.

She froze when a guard popped up from a chair near the doorway, dropping his book and fumbling for a weapon on his belt. Thinking fast, she grabbed the first thing she saw, a metal candelabra on a bookcase and chucked it with all her might at the guard.

In a stroke of luck, it conked him on the head and on his way to the ground, he hit his temple on the corner of a wood table before sagging to the ground. Caelia winced but sprinted to the window.

A small open grass area lay beyond and further out, the forest began, getting thicker the further away from Blackmanor. I must be at the back of the manor, perfect.

That meant less guards. She got to work cranking open the large window until it was wide enough for not only her, but the rest of the prisoners. With any luck, they'd take the same exit she did and would escape the same way.

She half tumbled, half fell out the window and into a large bush that practically swallowed her. With lots of grumbling and some scrapes, she finally freed herself and staggered out into the open.

Unabridged moonlight hit her and Caelia froze. She sucked in a large breath and relished the light bathing her, restoring her magic. The moonlight soothed her panic from before and filled her with a calm determination.

She looked back over her shoulder at Blackmanor with pure disgust. Her only regret was that she couldn't burn it to the ground.

Areven

His fist crashed into a guard's face and teeth flew out. A savage rush of satisfaction tore through him and he growled as another guard charged at him, sword drawn. He waited until the guard was in rage and swung before he moved, catching his wrist and twisting harshly until the guard was forced to drop his weapon. He yanked the guard forward and drove his knee up into his gut. Areven relieved him of his sword and finished the guard with his own weapon.

A heavy weight crashed into his back and he flew into the bars of a cell, catching himself on the iron with a grunt. He whipped around in time to dodge Faustas's fist and instead it crashed into iron. He howled with pain and rage, shaking his hand.
