At long last, Rose had finally returned to her true home: Hogwarts. The familiar scents of parchment and potion ingredients filled the air, and the sound of chattering students brought a sense of normalcy despite Ollie's absence. After unpacking, Rosemary found herself surrounded by her friends in the Hufflepuff common room, recounting her winter break.

"And then," Rose said, pulling out the delicate bracelet Harry had given her at the platform upon their return, "he gave me this. And the card too." She handed the piece of parchment to her friends, who eagerly snatched it from her hands and read Harry's scribbled note. He was always giving her impromptu gifts like this. Just last month Harry had given her a glass necklace that looked like it costed more than her life savings.

"Aw, that's so sweet!" exclaimed Amanda, her eyes sparkling with delight.

"Yeah, yeah." Candace rolled her eyes. "The words are sweet and all. 'You're the one for me;' 'I love you.' Blah, blah, blah," she teased. "Now let us see the gems." Candace made grabby hands at the ruby bracelet dangling between Rose's fingers.

Rolling her eyes, Rose handed it over swiftly.

As her fingers traced the intricate designs of the bracelet, Amanda noticed the beautiful charms adorning it. "Awww," she cooed. "Roses for Rose. How sweet!"

"Not sweet," the blonde protested, crinkling her button nose. "Just annoying. All he ever does is annoy me." She crossed her arms angrily, the light from the large window seeping through the curtains and reflecting across her freckled skin. "Potter is always showering me in attention, looking at me with heart eyes, complimenting me, buying me gifts!" Rose scoffed.

Candace snorted.

"That git!" Amanda mocked. She loved Rosemary, but sometimes the girl could be a bit stubborn and irrational. Perhaps the Potter boy's methods of gaining Rose's attention were rather questionable, but it was clear as day to anyone paying attention that his intentions were true. And besides, who on the planet aside from Rosemary Stevens would complain over receiving expensive jewelry.

At her remark, Rose swatted Amanda's arm in irritation. "I'm being serious. It's getting to be really rather annoying." she huffed. "I can't get anything done around here. He's just always there doing 'nice' things for me. He's the bane of my existence, I swear. It's so annoying."

"Wish someone rich and hot would annoy me with presents," Amanda murmured as her eyes widened at the price tag on the jewelry.

"What was that?" Rose queried.

"Oh, nothing," she sighed wistfully.

"I didn't know Harry could be so thoughtful," Amanda mused. "Maybe there's more to him than just being the famous Harry Potter."

Rose rolled her eyes, tucking the bracelet back into its box after her Ravenclaw friends, who came to see her new gift, had left the Hufflepuff common room . "Yeah, maybe," she muttered, not wanting to give Harry more credit than he deserved. "But he's still an arrogant git."

Candace grinned mischievously. "Oh, come on, Rose. You have to admit, he's trying pretty hard. And that bracelet is gorgeous."

Amanda laughed. "And don't forget the serenade in the Great Hall. He's really pulling out all the stops for you." Just earlier today, Harry had stood atop the Gryffindor tables — for the fifth time this year, might I add — to sing an incredibly tone-deaf rendition of "Built Me up Buttercup" dedicated oh-so-kindly to Rosemary.

Needless to say, the girl did not respond as he had hoped, the bespectacled boy leaving the Great Hall with his pumpkin soup in his hair instead of his stomach.
