The air crackled with an eerie tension, as if the very atmosphere sensed the brewing storm growing inside Adira. Sixteen and full of life, she was the last person anyone would expect to become a vessel for something as evil as the spirit within her. Yet, sitting in the dimly lit theatre, everything about her had changed. Where her once vibrant blue eyes sat, shafts of shimmering white light erupted from their sockets, illuminating the dim room with a shade of fury and hate that did not belong to her.

Tethered to this realm by pain and resentment, the vengeful witch fought to take control of the teenager's body, determined to reclaim the life she felt had been stolen from her.

In that moment of chaos, Adira's consciousness flickered like a dying flame, threatened by the consuming darkness. The theatre itself felt alive with uncertainty as the spirit wreaked havoc, causing the room to tremble and objects to erupt in a frenzy.

In desperation, Donny reached for his sling ring — the tool he had used for countless performances, but never for something so grave. His hands shook with fear as he activated it, intensely focusing as a portal materialized before him. The ethereal gateway shimmered, swirling with hues of orange and yellow, revealing the sanctity of Kamar-Taj. Donny stumbled through, his breathing coming in panicked gasps as he turned to a man sitting within an ancient library for help.

"You know you aren't welcome here, Blaze." the man spoke, his demeanor radiating wisdom as he reshelved a group of ancient texts, taking his new position of librarian seriously.

Donny, feeling a surge of apprehension, took a shakey breath. "I had nowhere else to turn, Wong," he confessed, his usual bravado faltering under the intensity of the man's scrutiny. Images of Adira's distressed face haunted his mind, a painful reminder as to why he was kicked out of Kamar-Taj in the first place.

Wong turned to face Donny, his eyes narrowing as he spotted the disorder taking place behind the amateur magician. "What have you done," he grumbles while grabbing his things in a hurry, clearly upset with Blaze's disregard for how dangerous the ancient arts could be.

As they stepped back through the portal onto the theatre's stage, the scene that awaited them was one of chaos. Adira was floating a few feet off the ground, her body convulsing as the witch fought for dominance. As her breath quickened, words erupted from Adira's lips, twisted and ancient, a language long forgotten yet chillingly familiar — the tongue of the Darkhold. A dark, sludge-like substance began to snake it's way around Adira's body, the sickening sounds of Adira's body being forced to move filling the air.

Observing the volatile scene with a professional eye, Wong noted the surging energy radiating from Adira, indicating the complex nature of the spirit inhabiting her. As the witch fought for control, casting dark shadows over Adira's will, it became evident that Wong's options were limited. Expelling the spirit outright could lead to catastrophic consequences, possibly tearing Adira apart in the process. Wong quickly began to perform a containment spell, his powerful hand gestures weaving through the air, creating a tapestry of mystical energy within Adira's mind. Merging chant and intention, he focused on not only trapping the spirit, but Adira's astral form as well— drawing her identity from the shadows of her own mind.

As the rush of energy settled, Adira collapsed, breathless and disoriented, while Wong remained at her side. The spirit within her was contained, yet Adira felt an unsettling mix of relief and trepidation, knowing that the darkness was still there, restless and waiting to be free.

Recognizing the toll of the experience had taken on such a young girl, Wong let out a sigh before placing his hand on Adira's back in a comforting manner. "Adira," he began softly, "you have shown incredible strength, but the spirit within you is a potential threat. It needs to be monitored carefully."

Adira looked up at him, her voice trembling as she spoke. "I don't want to feel it inside me... I just... I just want to be normal again..."

Wong hesitantly nodded, understanding the complexities of her struggle as he stood and extended his hand to her. "For now, the best place for you is Kamar-Taj. I and the Ancient One will offer our guidance to help you learn to harness your power and navigate the spirit that still remains. You are far from 'normal,' but you can find strength in being extraordinary."

With an exhausted and saddened sigh, Adira accepted Wong's proposal and hand. It wasn't what she had envisioned for her future, but the idea of support gave her a glimmer of hope, especially with having to so carefully traverse this new life she had been forced to live.

As the portal to Kamar-Taj shimmered back into existence, a sense of finality washed over the atmosphere within the air of the theatre. Adira looked back, searching for a trace of what had once seemed familiar, her heart heavy with confusion and sorrow.

Donny stood at a distance, a silent silhouette of shame. His gaze was cast downward, avoiding Adira's. The weight of his mistake gripped him, leaving no words to offer, no comfort to impart. He felt undeserving of her attention, a mere shadow in this moment of profound vulnerability.

With a mix of resolve and defeat, Adira turned to Wong, who now would guide her to a new path. As they stepped toward the portal, she took a final glance at Donny — the man whose magic lured her in but had also unleashed a dark chapter in her life. In that brief moment, she hoped for understanding, a reconciliation she feared would never come.

"Adira," Wong said gently, "it is time."
