"The king will be here in two nights and he comes with the Tyrells. You are to be betrothed to Margaery Tyrell before your siblings and I leave for the capital." Eddard Stark tells his oldest son Kraven. "Why do I have to be the one to marry her? Why can't Robb?" Kraven points at Robb, who's head shoots up and instantly shakes.
"Because you're the next Warden of the North. Joffrey is already betrothed to Sansa and the Tyrells want someone honorable to marry their daughter if they can't make her queen." Ned sighs as he pats his sons shoulder. "How do they know that I'm honorable? I could be just as bad as the Boltons?" Kraven knew that question was stupid but he wanted any excuse to get out of this marriage.
"Because you are my son. We are honorable men... Your mother would also be upset if you do not treat her right." Ned smiles at his son. "Now, go get freshened up and see your mother. She is the one making your outfit for when the king and Tyrells arrive. She needs to take your measurements." Ned speaks. "Yes father." Kraven mumbles as he quickly leaves the room and makes his way towards where his mother was.
"Mother, do you think I'd make a good husband?" Kraven asks as he stands with his arms out as his mother is pinning cloth around his body to fit his body. "If you're anything like your father, you will be a great husband." Catelyn speaks. "But father has a bastard." Kraven speaks. "It was times of war and nobody knew if they were going to make it home. He broke vows but I vowed to love him either way. You are my heir to winterfell and that will never change. Do not look at your father any other way because I have forgiven him years ago. You will do your duty as a husband and make sure she is happy here. She is coming from somewhere very bright and warm to somewhere that's cold and gray." Catelyn explains.
"You're right mother. I will try my best to make her as happy as I can." Kraven speaks confidently as he looks his mother in the eyes. "Us women are only born for one thing and I want you to make sure she's an equal to you. Can you promise that to me son?" Catelyn places her hands on both of Kraven's cheeks. "I promise." Kraven smiles at his mom before closing his eyes when she pulls his head down and kisses his forehead and his cheeks. "Now let us finish your clothes." Catelyn smiles before finishing his fitting.
Time Skip
Kraven stood next to his father and mother as the king made his way through the gates of Winterfell. Arya came running by with a helmet on her head and Kraven quickly grabbed her, and pulled the helmet off with a little laugh. "Go stand next to your brother." Catelyn spoke. Arya groaned before doing as told as Rickon lets out a little laugh at her.
"So you're the man that's marrying the Tyrell girl? Are you trying to impress her? Men shouldn't have to do that." Robert spoke as he looked Kraven up and down with a smirk. "Most men don't put in an effort because they feel entitled to a woman. Not me. I'm the lucky one to marry her." Kraven looked the king in the eyes as he spoke. He knew he struck a nerve with the king but he wouldn't do anything because he was Ned's son. "Honorable like your father." Robert speaks as he stuck his hand out to Kraven. "I try my king." Kraven says as he shook the kings hand a little rougher than Robert would've liked.
