The seeds of suspicion were daggers, each one planted in the soil of trust, waiting to bloom into betrayal.
Every relationships often started with the purest intentions, filled with love and dreams of a shared future. However, these bonds could be ruined by those seeds.
Small doubts could grow into towering obstacles, and wedge the partners.
Blame and suspicion could erode any relationship. When trust was broken, even the strongest bonds could become fragile. Miscommunication and unspoken words often led to misunderstandings that further deepen the break.
Just like that, Jungkook and Taehyung's relationship was a poignant example of how suspicion can blind someone to the truth, ultimately causing significant emotional damage.
The air in their shared apartment was thick with tension as Jungkook sat on the couch, scrolling through Taehyung's phone. His face masking a state of confusion and pain.
The messages from 'Jin-ah' left him feeling betrayed and hurt.
Jungkook didn't know who the hell Jin-ah was, and his mind was racing with suspicion. He was popping his right leg on the floor up and down, biting the nails on his right hand as his left hand scrolled through the messages. His eyes scanned the screen, searching for anything that could confirm his worst fears.
As thoughts of calling the girl to directly ask about her relationship with his Taehyung swirled in his mind, the door to the apartment opened.
A drenched Taehyung walked in, sighing heavily as he shook off the rain. It was pouring outside, and if he had stayed out any longer, he might have been swept away by the storm.
"Hey, my kookie," Taehyung greeted, masking his exhaustion with a soft smile. "It's raining cats and dogs out there. Today's been hectic as I accidentally left my phone here."
As the younger didn't give him any reply, he continued, "I brought your favourite takeout. How was your college today?" He asked, stepping in and placing the bags on the kitchen counter.
But Jungkook was in no mood for pleasantries. "Who is she, Taehyung?" He asked, his voice unusually cold.
Taehyung's smile faded as he frowned at the younger's tone. "What? Who are you talking about?"
"These messages," Jungkook stood up, holding Taehyung's phone out. "From Jin-ah. Why are you meeting up with her often? And why is she saying she misses you?"
"Kook, she's just a friend. There's nothing going on between us," Taehyung said, softly stepping closer to take the phone, but Jungkook pulled it away.
"Just a friend?" Jungkook's voice suddenly rose, his eyes flashing with hurt. "Why didn't you tell me about her, then? Why all the secrecy, huh?!"
"There's no secrecy! I just didn't think it was important to mention every little detail," Taehyung's frustration over the unwanted suspicion began to grow. "Jin-ah is an old friend, and we have been catching up because she's going to work in my company now. That's all."
"Catching up? You barely have time for me anymore, but you have all the time in the world for her?!" Jungkook's voice trembled with pain. "Do you even know how that makes me feel?"
"Jungkook, you are blowing this out of proportion," Taehyung ran a hand through his hair. "I'm tired, okay? I am trying my best here."
"Ha! Your best?" Jungkook's laughter was bitter. "Your best is ignoring me, making me feel like I am not enough? Your best is lying to me, right?"
"I have never lied to you!" This time, Taehyung rose his voice, his patience wearing thin. "I am exhausted, Jungkook. Work, responsibilities, and then coming home to this? It's too much!"
