Percy Jackson adjusted the straps of his worn backpack, his eyes scanning the desolate landscape. Ruined buildings stood like silent sentinels, remnants of a world that once thrived. Now, the New Order's oppressive presence was felt everywhere, and the air crackled with an uneasy tension.

Beside him, Piper McLean and Leo Valdez moved with practiced caution. They had been on the run for years, ever since Percy had found them as children. They were his family now, the only constants in a world turned upside down.

"Are you sure about this, Perc?" Piper asked, her voice a whisper but laced with concern. She adjusted the dagger at her side, always ready for a fight.

Percy gave her a reassuring smile, though his eyes betrayed his own doubts. "We need to find that safe haven. If the rumors are true, there might be more of us out there. We can't do this alone."

Leo, ever the optimist, grinned as he fiddled with a makeshift gadget. "Besides, it's not like we have many options. The New Order's closing in on us. We need a place to hide, at least for a while."

They moved quickly, sticking to the shadows and avoiding the patrol drones that hovered in the sky. Every step felt like a gamble, but Percy knew they had to take the risk. The whispers of a safe haven had reached their ears, promising refuge and a chance to regroup.

Just as they approached the edge of a forest, Leo suddenly tensed, his eyes scanning the trees. "Perc, I think we're being watched."

"Stay alert," Percy murmured, his hand tightening on the hilt of his sword. They continued forward, the dense canopy of the forest providing a welcome cover from the ever-watchful drones above.

The forest was eerily silent, the usual sounds of wildlife replaced by an oppressive stillness. Percy led the way, his senses on high alert. Every crack of a twig or rustle of leaves set his nerves on edge.

"We're close," Piper said softly, her eyes flickering with hope. "I can feel it."

"Me too," Leo added, though his tone was less confident. "But I also feel like something's not right."

They pushed deeper into the forest, the trees growing thicker and the light dimmer. Percy's thoughts wandered to the rumors they had heard. A safe haven for demigods, a place untouched by the New Order's tyranny. It sounded too good to be true, but they were desperate. They had to believe it was real.

The forest opened up into a small clearing, and Percy paused, scanning the area. There was no sign of life, no indication that anyone had been here recently. He took a deep breath, trying to steady his nerves.

"We should rest for a moment," Percy said, glancing back at Piper and Leo. "But stay vigilant. We can't afford to let our guard down."

They settled in the clearing, taking a moment to catch their breath. Piper and Leo sat close, their backs against a large tree, while Percy remained standing, his eyes never leaving the forest's edge.

"Do you think we'll find it, Perc?" Piper asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"We have to," Percy replied, his tone firm. "There's no other choice."

Leo was about to say something when he suddenly tensed, his eyes scanning the trees. "Perc, I think we're being watched."

Before Percy could respond, two figures leapt out from the bushes. A tall and imposing figure grabbed Leo and Piper, holding them at bay. A girl with blonde hair tied back in a ponytail and eyes sharp as daggers lunged at Percy.

"Stay back!" Percy shouted, his eyes dart

The girl was relentless, her attacks swift and precise. Percy parried her blows, his mind racing. Who were these people, and why were they attacking them?

"Who are you?" Percy demanded, blocking a particularly vicious strike.

"None of your business," the girl retorted, her eyes narrowing. "But you're not going anywhere."

As they fought, Percy could see the tall figure keeping a tight grip on Leo and Piper. His heart pounded in his chest, worry gnawing at him. He couldn't let anything happen to them.

Piper, determined not to be outdone, fought back with her dagger, her eyes blazing with fierce determination. "Let us go!" she shouted, slashing at the tall figure.

Leo wielded his hammer with surprising skill, his face set in a determined scowl. "Get off us!" he yelled, swinging at their attacker.

With a sudden burst of energy, Percy managed to disarm the girl, her sword clattering to the ground. But before he could catch his breath, a scream pierced the air.

"Piper!" Percy shouted, his attention snapping to his sister. In that exact moment, he felt a sharp pain in his forearm. Looking down, he saw an arrow embedded in his flesh.

His vision blurred, and his movements became sluggish. He staggered, trying to reach Piper and Leo, but his body betrayed him. The last thing he saw before darkness claimed him was the worried face of the girl he had been fighting and the approaching figure of a girl with black hair and electric blue eyes, bow in hand.

"We have to knock them out too. We can't trust anyone," Thalia said, her tone firm as she glanced back at the weary figures of Piper and Leo.

"But they're like 12," Luke's voice held a note of optimism, his eyes darting towards Piper and Leo, who were now sitting up, looking tired but alert.

"Luke, you know the drill," Annabeth interjected, her voice calm but resolute. "It's alright. We drug them, it wears off in a couple of hours, we question them, and then we let them go."

Luke sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "I know, I know. It's just... they don't look like threats. They're just kids."

"Appearances can be deceiving," Thalia replied, her gaze unwavering. "We've been fooled before. We can't take any chances, especially now."

Annabeth nodded in agreement. "Thalia's right. The New Order is relentless. We have to be cautious."

Luke glanced at Piper and Leo again, his expression softening. "I get it. But I hope we're doing the right thing."

"We are," Annabeth said, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "We're protecting our own. It's what we have to do to survive."

Thalia moved towards Piper and Leo, the vial still in her hand. "Let's get this over with. The sooner we do this, the sooner we can figure out who they are and what they want."
