ARE WE STILL FRIENDS ?

KAILANI WALKED OUT WITH HER group after school, all talking and chatting amongst themselves.

"So, you're all still coming to my party tonight right?" Charlie asked the group as they headed to the parking lot.

"Obviously Charlie, wouldn't miss a party thrown by you." Kailani said immediately.

"I don't know if I can't because I might have to babysit Mattie, if I get the chance I'll show up though." Ollie hugged his girlfriend with a sorry look on his face.

Everyone else agreed that it would be fine for them to go to Charlie's house. There was still a lot of tension in the air between Kimi and Kailani. Kailani couldn't even look his way because he would be staring at her.

"Okay well, Ciao guys I'll see you tonight!" Sydney broke the silence before hugging Kailani goodbye.

The group split up into each one of their cars, Ollie in his, Charlie in hers, Paul and Sydney in Sydney's car, all was left for Kimi to walk to his car.

Kailani had been walking to her car until she heard someone call out her name.

"Kailani! Can we talk?" Kimi yelled out jogging up to her.

Kailani turned to him with a straight face. "I'm good, thanks bro."

"You seriously suck. Either way I don't have a car so you have to drive me home." He said, a smile creeping up onto his face.

"Take the bus dumbass. Better yet, walk." Kailani replied unlocking her car.

The track captain climbed into her car noticing that the door to the passenger side was opening.

"Oh my God Kimi, get the fuck out. Go get a ride with your girlfriend I can literally see her from here." She said attempting to push him out of the car seat.

"No, I'm coming home with you. You have my clothes at your house anyways and those are the ones I wanted to wear today so I may as well just go with you." Kimi said strapping himself in.

Kailani closed the front door with a groan. "I'm not even going to say anything, but I swear if you are a pain in the ass. You are forever finished."

"Fine, sounds good to me. Just hurry up and drive please."

Kailani turned the car on and immediately put music on. Hopefully it would take the awkwardness out of the situation between the two.

After what had seemed to be the longest 10 minutes of her life, the two arrived at her house and got out of the car.

Opening the door, Kailani took her shoes off instructing Kimi to do the same before heading into the kitchen.

"Ciao mama, are you still okay with me going to the party at Charlie's later?" Kailani asked her mother hoping her answer wouldn't be any different than Wednesday's.

"Yes Kailani you can go but you text me if you decide to sleep over. Also you know the deal no drinking or anything." Her mother said sternly while also waving to Kimi.

"Obviously Mama, I would never do that. We are going to go upstairs and then leave in around an hour. Love you." Kailani said.

She grabbed Kimi's arm so the two could head to her room even thought Kimi knew how to get there perfectly well.

"No drinking huh Kailani?" Kimi teased just after Kailani closed the door and dropped her bag down.

"Shut up, Kimi. She doesn't have to know." She turned to him and threw his left over clothes right in his face.

"That hurt, but thanks." He said before she turned once again. "Hey, are we good Kai?" He asked nearing her.

"We're fine, you know why I've been like that and nothings changing it. I don't want to fight, I just want to enjoy my night off." Kailani said eyeing Kimi due to his shirt being off in front of her.

"Like what you see?" Kimi said smiling at the girl who was bright red.

"Don't you have a girlfriend you should be showing that to instead?" Kailani shot back at him attempting to stop the blush overtaking her face.

She still could not figure out why she simply couldn't hate him for what happened last Saturday, why she suddenly felt an attraction to the boy.

She had thought it must have been the post-breakup feeling but the two had been over for two weeks. Yet Kailani had still felt all happy inside whenever she would talk to Kimi.

"You okay?" Kimi said walking out of the bathroom as he saw Kailani standing there clearly zoned out.

"Just fine, I'm going to get ready and then we can just rest a little bit before we leave." Kailani replied to him before walking into the bathroom.

nothing important is going to happen at the party so i am going to skip that, but stuff will happen after the party when they wake up so that will be the next chapter.
