A week later, Brendon was discharged, and Riley drove them both home. Grace and Boyd flew back to Las Vegas when Brendon was recovering well.
Riley opened Brendons door and helped him into his house. Riley went to the car to get his bags.
"Bren, can I borrow the car to get home?" Riley asked.
"Erm, well, I thought that maybe you could stay here." Brendon said.
"I am Bren, I need to go home and get some things."
"No, I mean permanently. Move in with me." Riley was lost for words.

"Well, why don't you flip it and sell it on for a profit? Hopefully, that will be enough to start your own business."
"Can I think it over?"
"Of course, take as much time as you need." Brendon replied.

Riley went to Linda's to pick her things up for work. Linda was home.
"Hey Lin." Riley said as she walked through the door.

"What??" Linda looked surprised. "When?"
"Just now, when we got back to his house."
"What did you say?"
"I asked if I could think about it." Riley said. Linda nodded.
"Wait, what about your house?"
Riley explained what Brendon had suggested. "That would make perfect sense if you decide to do it."
"It would." Riley agreed.
"I am glad that you have decided to think things over Ry. It's a decision you shouldn't rush into."
"I know, Lin. We haven't known each other very long."
"Even a blind man can see how Brendon feels about you."
"And I feel the same way. I just want to take some time. It feels like it's moving too fast. I just don't want Brendon to be asking me because he is on some sort of'I am alive, so therefore I must ask my girlfriend to move in with me,' you know? He's been through something traumatic." Riley said.

" I didn't get shot, though. I love Brendon, and I do wonder if he is just being nice because he feels sorry for me and my sad life. With my PTSD and the anxiety."

Riley laughed and stood up to go and pack a few things.

Riley took a few weeks to weigh up the pros and cons of moving in with Brendon. Her house was coming along nicely and work was going from strength to strength. Riley thought with her head instead of her heart. In reality it should have been the other way around.
