Christmas morning arrived. They were all up exchanging their gifts. Lionel was a lovely guy. He was very sweet and a gentleman.
Riley cooked the breakfast with her father.
"Dad, I am so happy you have found someone." Riley said, hugging him before they served up the food. Scrambled eggs bacon sausages and French toast.
"Thank you, Smiley. That means the world to me. It doesn't bother you it's a guy?"
"No, Dad. He makes you happy, and that is good enough for me."
"Aww honey." Robert said, and they hugged again.

Robert and Lionel were cooking the Christmas dinner. Brendon and Riley went for a walk.
"So, I was wondering if you could do something for me, Ry." Brendon said as they walked along.
"Ok?" Riley questioned.
"Well, you see, the thing is," Brendon started digging in his jacket pocket, " I have this that was gonna ask you to wear." Brendon pulled a ring box out and opened it. Rileys hands flew to her cheeks, and she gasped. She then decided to play along.
"Well, I mean, it's a beautiful ring. Which hand should I wear it on?" Riley was looking deep in thought.
"Can I make a suggestion?" Brendon asked. Riley nodded. Brendon took her left hand and kissed it. He got the ring and put it on her ring finger. "I love you, Riley." Brendon kissed her. Riley was crying.
"I love you, Brendon." Riley managed to reply. They walked back towards Roberts' house. They walked in the back door.
"Ah, let me see." Her father said, looking at the engagement ring.
"Beautiful. Congratulations, honey." He hugged his daughter.
"How did you know?" Riley asked.
"Brendon asked for my blessing yesterday." Robert said. Riley looked at her now fiancé.
"I had to do it properly." Brendon said, pushing his black rimmed glasses up his nose. Riley went over to him and hugged him. Kelly and Patrick walked into the kitchen.
"What's going on?" Kelly asked. Riley showed her sister her ring.
"Riley! Congratulations!" Kelly hugged her sister, then Brendon. Patrick shook Brendons hand and gave Riley a kiss on the cheek.
Lionel congratulated them both.
Riley went to use the bathroom and decided to have a rest. She was still recovering from 6 hectic weeks. The tiredness was unreal some days. Riley dozed off and had a dream about Bobby crashing the wedding. Shooting his gun at everyone. He killed all her family, and then Brendon. Bobby pulled Riley away.
'You are mine now, forever.' He said. Riley tried to pull away from Bobby, but he kept a tight hold of her wrist. 'You have nowhere to run. Get used to it.' Riley must have been making some noise because Brendon and Kelly went up to see her.
"Riley,"Brendon said, gently shaking her shoulder. Riley was crying out and sobbing in her sleep.
"Riley,"Kelly tried. "Riley, wake up."
"Fuck off Bobby." Riley muttered. And she was trying to fight him off. Riley was looking for Brendon. She saw him and ran towards him. As Riley ran, a shot was fired. It whooshed past her head and into Brendon.
"BRENDON!"Riley screamed and woke up. She looked over at Brendon. She crawled over to him and checked him over.
"You're OK? Not shot?" Riley asked. Then she kissed him all over his face. Riley then noticed Kelly there. "Omg, sis, you were dead. He shot all of you. It was awful." Riley said, wiping her cheeks. Kelly rubbed Riley on her back.
"DINNERS READY!" Lionel said.
They all went downstairs to eat the delicious food that had been cooked. Riley looked around the faces at the dinner table. She was so thankful for the people that she had in her life now.
Riley had been through a traumatic ordeal this year. She had gained a fiancé and was closer to her family. Her sister had found an incredible guy, too.
As for her Dad, well Riley was so happy that he had finally found someone. There had been nobody since their mother had died. It was a shock to find out her Dad was bisexual, but she was glad that he was happy.
Patrick looked across the table at Kelly. He was totally in love with her. Riley smiled when she saw the way he looked at her little sister.
Riley didn't know what the future would bring, but right now, it was what counted right now.
