Moira took us to a secure government building. We went through many different forms of security before we finally sat in a conference room with men in expensive looking suits.

"Individuals with extraordinary abilities may already be among us," Charles was telling the government officials.

I closed my eyes so no one would see me rolls my eyes. How many times would I have to hear about how mutants may exist before we get to the whole point of this? Moira knows they exist. We certainly knew we existed. I crossed my arms and silently sighed.

"-apple pecan," Charles stated, bringing me back to the room.

I glanced to Raven. What had I missed?

"You see, one of the many spectacular things that my mutation allows me to do is that I can read your mind."

Read your mind. Find out all your secrets. It's all the same. I leaned back in my chair. He apologized, Natalia, you need to let it go. He read your mind. You almost killed him- more than once. I say we are more than even. My cheeks heated. If either of us had a right to hold a grudge it would be him.

"No, Agent Stryker, although I could ask you about your son, William, who you were thinking about which is very nice- but I think I'd rather ask you about the Jupiter missiles Americans are currently placing in Turkey." Charles face turned grim.

The room erupted in shouts, "You brought a spy!"

"He's not a spy!"

"How could you bring him here?"

People shoved away from the table, shouting, and pointing fingers, but Raven stood and transformed into the man Charles called Agent Stryker.

Everyone froze.

My heart pounded. I was never certain if Raven was a mutant or just very mutant friendly, but either way it didn't matter to me. I did not, however, expect her to ever turn into a white haired middle aged man.

"How's that for a magic trick?" Charles asked, with an edge to his voice. Even as patient as he was, he still had his limits. Funny almost being killed wasn't his limit but being called a spy was.

"Best I've ever seen," A man sitting in the back, not high enough rank to sit at the table I suppose, said softly.

"I want them out of here, and locked down until I can figure out what to do."

Panic engulfed me internally. I knew what that meant. I'd been there before.

It's going to be all right, Natalia. I won't let them hurt us, Charles said gently in my mind, his gaze never leaving the man at the head of the table.

"I have a facility off site," the man in the back corner offered. "I'll take them."
