music reverberated in the smoked clouded and alcohol scented house as y/n tilted a red cup against her lips, emptying the plastic for the umpteenth time tonight. kenma wasn't too far from her. in fact, he's the one who removed the cup from her hold in one quick movement just before she was going to refill it again. "hey-".

"you're drunk enough. go socialize." the blonde scolded. y/n was about to retaliate, but kenma gripped either sides of her shoulders and guided her to an empty hallway. "walk in a straight line. if you do it correctly, you can get another drink."

y/n was about to do so, but she took a singular step before backing down. kenma let out a snort at her inability to do such a simple task and she landed an inaccurate smack to his shoulder. "shut up. how about you go socialize?" she huffed, following next to him as they began to walk back to the kitchen where fewer people resided. "everyone here is either looking to hook up or get high to the point of-".

he felt y/n's heavy glare, making him turn to face her. "no offense."

"none taken, i guess." she shrugged. "why did you want us to come here then?" she asked, holding onto his elbow so she wouldn't get lost in the crowd of unstable bodies, though, she wasn't too stable herself. her head spun and she almost felt light enough to levitate. she knew that her speech was slurred, yet kenma understood every word. "apparently, this party is being thrown by some guys our age."

"yeah? why's that so fascinating to you?"

kenma glanced at her and rolled his eyes. she tightened her grip on him and he mumbled a small "okay, okay." they were now in the kitchen area of the house and y/n took this as a chance to sit at the bar stood behind the counter. "so?" she questioned with impatience.

"those guys are in a band and they just got signed to a huge record label. threw this party to celebrate i guess." he shrugged, leaning against the counter in the small space next to his best friend. "that sounds cool. do they go to this university?" she asked. kenma shrugged. "probably. with an opportunity like that, though? i guarantee you they'll drop out for next semester." he smiled. "sounds like a dream." she looked off ahead of her in fake awe. "what? you don't like it here?" kenma asked.
