y/n blinked up at the ceiling as she silently listened to the commotion that kenma was causing in the kitchen behind her. after numerous complaints about not having the energy to make her current craving and a few indirect begs to her best friend, he decided to do it for her. "when are you going to tell your parents? it's summer break soon and they're going to want to see you." he commenced.
y/n heard the kitchen fall silent and along with it, she felt his gaze on the back of her head. she tilted her head upwards to watch whatever show that was playing on the tv mounted to the wall, forcing her thoughts to conjure up anything that didn't relate to kenma's question. it was only futile since the blonde pushed furthermore when he cleared his throat a bit louder than necessary.
"i really don't want to hear what they're bound to say, ken." she glanced at him when he finally walked over to her, (food craving) in hand. "soon...just not now."
"your stomach's not getting any smaller, y/n." he laughed, taking a seat next to her before turning down the volume of the tv to properly focus on their conversation. "can you come with me then?" she questioned, turning to face kenma who gave her a deadpan expression. "and have them think that I'm the one who knocked you up? they already think I've been a bad influence on you since high school. nope." he shook his head and shifted his gaze from y/n in fear of letting her convince him.
"i'll tell them that you're not the father."
"then you'll have to tell them that the father won't be in her life."
"no way!" she exclaimed, sitting up properly to rub her temples. "they'll freak the hell out." she groaned. kenma looked back over to his best friend with a pitiful look in his eyes. "they're going to freak regardless, y/n. you've gotta do this. you cant keep putting them off..." he let out a huff. "you havent seen them in two entire semesters."
