The next day

I'm currently ranting to Kayla on the phone. Grayson and I haven't spoke since the fight. I went to Valentina's to smoke a blunt with her and Ariana after I left the convention. I didn't get a chance to bitch about our fight so I'm going all in now.

"He scolded me for 'not being safe' and said my plan was stupid! Can you believe that?!" I fume.

"Yes. Yes I can."

"What?"

"Robbie I love you but that was a stupid plan. It could have backfired so bad. She could have had a weapon or been a really good fighter. There was just too much room for error. I didn't say anything because you've been through a lot recently and you needed a win but that plan was not good. You left yourself alone with you and your boyfriend's stalker for goodness sake. No wonder he's upset. He was worried because he loves you."

"Well yeah but he didn't have to be a dick about it." I grumble.

"Yeah he was doing wayy too much. There was no need to yell. He could have gotten his point across without a rude lecture. You should definitely chew him out for that. But also, be safe in the future and stop going through crazy shit alone. You always do this." She replies.

"I do not." I insist.

"Yes, you do. You forget that you have people around you who love you. We could have developed a plan with you if you had asked. You did this when grandma died. You dealt with that grief alone even though we all felt it. You also did this when you were bullied in middle school and kept it a secret. Oh and when you first started working for Harper and hid how awful it was."

"I-. That's because-. It's just-.....Ok maybe I do have a habit of cutting people out when things get too hard."

"You do! You should really get back into therapy. You know my friend Claudia does Telehealth now. She can meet with you again even now that you're in LA."

"Ugh I hate being wrong. Send me her number so we can get in touch." I sigh.

"You should makeup with him. Call him out for the yelling but then talk it out like adults and makeup." She advises.

"Ok I'll call him. We both can be pretty stubborn people though. I don't know if he'll answer because he's mad at me." I say. Kayla snorts in response.

"What?"

She just laughs and hangs up on me. I call Grayson next and he shockingly answers on the second ring.

"Hey." He greets softly.

"Hi." I respond.

No yelling and he picked up so fast

"Look I wanna apologize for yesterday."

"Me first. I shouldn't have yelled. I was worried yes, but it I didn't have to be so rude about it. That's the least helpful thing I could have done because I know how stressful the stalking was on you."

"She stalked you first and way longer than me. I get why you were so worried. You know more about what she's capable of than me. I shouldn't have been so reckless. I do have a habit of shutting others out when I'm going through really tough shit...I'm gonna fix that."
