It was the first day of school and Ty got out of bed with a smile on his face since this was the first time he got to see everyone in months. Over everyone Ty missed his girlfriend Annabelle the most, he hadn't seen her in a week but that felt like eons to him. Ty was really excited to see her everyday for a while now.
Ty got onto the bus and saw his best friend Ben. Ben saved a seat for him and Ty sat down with glee. Ty had missed talking to Ben everyday before school, it was one of the things he liked about school. He also liked seeing his girlfriend everyday, it was the best part of his day.
There were things he didn't like about school though. Things like how some people treated him, he wasn't the most popular guy in school. He didn't let any of that get to him except on occasions, but he never tells anyone about those times. He hates how everyone treats him, you would think they would have a little respect for someone who never did anything.
Ty tried his best to avoid this main guy, Brian. Brian always had a way of getting to him. He would always bring up the time Ty cried in school and that hurt him even more because it brings back the haunting memories of Ty's mother's death.
He tried hard to forget but he can't forget how he had to watch his mother be killed right before his own eyes. The trickling of blood off of the killers knife made a stain in the carpet of his bedroom which he had to walk by every day. He watched as his dad brutally beat the man to death as he hid in the closet in terror. He tried to forget but he couldn't.
He just couldn't. Then he realized that he was still on the bus and had fallen asleep. At least he woke up before they got to school. Ben told him that he sent pictures of him sleeping to Ty's girlfriend. Ty jokingly punched him on the shoulder and they both laughed it off, they then compared schedules to find out they had homeroom, first, third, sixth, and seventh period together!
Ty and Ben walked together eagerly to class then they both saw Brian. Ty tried to avoid him but he was screwed. Brian walked over to Ty and put his arm around him.
"I sure did miss ya" he says mockingly
"Leave him alone" says Ben angrily
"Yeah get your arm off of me" Ty says as he wiggles his way out
Brian quickly sticks his leg out to trip Ty which works once again. His books go everywhere. Ty gets up tired of all of it and punches Brian straight in the stomach. Brian recovers quickly and grabs Ty by the neck and says, "If you ever try anything like that again, I will hurt you more than you--"
He was interrupted by the blow from the side of his head from Ben which made him lay on the ground for a while. Ty got out of Brian's death grip and spat on Brian, this year he wasn't taking any of Brian's crap.
Ty then goes to his locker to see that Annabelle was waiting for him. Ben tells Ty that he'll let them two catch up while he goes to homeroom.
"Hi," says Ty distracted by the beauty of Annabelle
"Hey sweetie, did you miss me?" She says with a smirk on her face. Of course he missed her, she's the love of his life. Something was different about the way she looked at him, he didn't pay much attention to it though, it was probably nothing. They compared schedules just to find out they only had fifth period together.
He then walks Annabelle to her homeroom and goes back to his and sits by Ben. He sits down right before the bell rings. His teacher then takes role and once again, his name is first on the list, Ty Aaron.
It is finally his last year in middle school and he is ready for high school. He's heard that it's so much better than middle school. Especially the cafeteria. Ty is skinny as a stick but he can eat so much. His friend Ben is not skinny but he sure isn't fat, Ben is built and it's good for Ty to have a built friend because he gets picked on a lot. Ben isn't mean about him being muscular unlike people like Brian.
The bell then rings for the beginning of class. Ty is really happy for class because he always enjoys work and learning comes easily to him. Ben on the other hand, not the brightest but Ty doesn't mind helping him out. He will always come over after school the day before a test and help Ben study. Ben's family is a really nice family and Ty wishes he had what been has. Ty's parents didn't always get along while his mother was still alive. In the end his parents did love each other very much and tried hard to get along for Ty's sake.
The fighting didn't bother him much but it did sometimes when all he wanted were some nice parents to help him with stuff. He has a lot going on and nobody is really ever there for him, the only two people who help him out are Ben and Annabelle. Annabelle more considering he didn't have to worry about how brave he looked in front of her. She was a really sweet girlfriend and Ty has no idea how he got her
The bell finally rung again to start class and it is Ty's favorite subject, science. Ty eagerly got ready for class and then remembered that it's the first day and they will be doing boring stuff to get to know each other. Then the teacher walked in and told them that instead of doing that that they will be learning lab safety today and will have a test tomorrow. Ben looks over at him and tells him to come over to his house for studying. Ty silently agreed and was glad he didn't have to go home after school.
