Red, green and blue energy beams streaked across the empty vacuum of space, and a myriad of super-advanced warships fought in orbit around an active star. Red and black bricks made of sleek, angular metal larger than a whole city block and armed to the teeth with advanced weaponry. It was hard to tell who was who because the starships all bore the same basic design philosophy. It was like witnessing a civil war on a scale never before seen. This battle was one of many on the galactic front.

The galaxy burned for years, a thousand worlds destroyed and a thousand more still burning in its wake. There was nought a shred of mercy for any of its soldiers or citizens. Robots of various shapes, all bearing design similarities to the ships fought with one another in the open space, on the hulls of the spacecraft and on the surface of a neighbouring planet.

The robots were numerous, many being destroyed left, right and centre. At the centre of this battle were a few caped humanoids. Clad in super-advanced armour they appeared more human than the robots. They all worked together, speeding through space to rip apart the cybernetic menace with their own hands. Their helmets completely obscured any of their physical features, portraying the appearance of a cross on their faceplate, or perhaps it was merely an aggressive letter T, who knows.

It glared bright red before beams of crimson light emerged from within, cutting apart anything that dared stand in their way. These soldiers would go on to tear entire ships apart, basking in the star's golden rays while they tore through the enemy army. The blaster beams shot at them mostly bounced off of armour and staggered them at best.

The armoured soldiers were nearly identical in appearance. Most bore angular armour that was black and red in colour topped off with red capes. But there were exceptions among the small ranks. Some wore a more bright version of the armour, more advanced in appearance and function. Their capes were white, just as the plating on their more detailed suits. These men and women also had a prominent symbol engraved into the centre of their chestplate. Their coat of arms. The Symbol of Hope.

But hope doesn't last...

One of the main enemy battleships in the back, largely undamaged shot off a fast-moving projectile straight towards the bright star. It detonated mere moments later. But it did not go according to calculations done by a brilliant mind. The star did indeed explode into a red giant momentarily before quickly collapsing in on itself. The entire mass of a large star imploded into an infinitely small point of space-time. It formed a singularity. A single point of infinite mass and energy. The remnants of the star's bright light burned away in a supernova that killed and destroyed everything in its wake. The planet was burned to a crisp, leaving no survivors. The soldiers, briefly weakened by the red giant's glow were all but reduced to atoms. The ships fared no different. Some tried to turn away and run, but they were too slow.

Everything simply perished before the cosmic wrath of a dying star...

Everything... except for one. A lone soldier of the unnamed empire hid behind one of the large starships, mostly shielding himself from the supernova as the hull of the vessel took the brunt of the impact. Its rigidity is put to the test and its build quality is a testament to its powerful form. Yet still, it was merely rubble seconds later.
