War and Yin have been together for the last 4 years. Everything have been great for the both of them...they got stable jobs, lived in comfortable apartment and have loving and supportive circle of friends.
While Yin is out to his family (he came out when he was in high school) it was a different story with War. His family knew Yin as his best friend, not a lover. He have a set of traditional parents who value traditional virtues and same sex relationship is somehow aren't aligned with their belief. War's afraid being shun away from his family as he was the only child and his parents meant the world to him.
'If you don't want to tell them, and I won't force you to do it...' Yin said as the topic of family sprung up in their conversation.
'But...are you willing to be known as my best friend for the rest of our life?' War looked at Yin.
'Isn't that a good thing? At least your parents love me as if I'm their own son...your mom treat me so well whenever we went back to your home...' Yin held War's hand.

'What? Engagement?' War's eyes widened. The phone he was holding was almost dropped from his grip.
'Yes...your dad and I already found a girl suitable for you...she's very nice, pretty, successful and such a darling...I'm sure you're gonna like her...' His mom said at the other side of the call.
'But Mae...'
'No buts Wanarat...you're coming home this Saturday for the ceremony and I've already told Yin...as your best friend he should be here to celebrate...I gotta go...there's so much to do...I'll talk to you later...' The call ended much to War's dismay.
*She called Yin too? Shit!* War mentally cursed.
The sudden revelation send War into panic. He never knew his parents would do something like that. A text came to his phone...it's from his mom, and a picture attached to it.
This is Pansa...isn't she beautiful?
*Damn it!*
Yin could hardly concerntrate driving back home...it's was the last thing he thought would happen when War's mom called him that afternoon telling him to bring War home for engagement ceremony.
*Drag him if you have to...* War's mom said before ending the call.
When he got home, War was already there pacing in the living room.
'I can't believe my mom called you...' War said as Yin walking in.
'I didn't expect it either...'
'Pack the bags, we're going back to my home today and tell my parents about us...' War said staring at Yin.
'Now? But I thought the engagement is on Sunday...it's four days away.'
'I can't wait that long...too much damage control and we can't risk that...'
'I'll check out if any flight available...'
2 hours of flying, the pair arrived in Khon Kaen, War's hometown.
'Are you nervous?' Yin held War's slightly trembled hand.
'A little...I know I should've told them sooner about us...if I did, none of this would happen...' War sighed.
'It's okay...if anything happen, I'm here with you...' Yin leaned over and kissed War's temple.
'Thanks babe...it really means a lot to me...'
War's parents were surprised to see their son and his best friend at their doorstep that night.
'Honey...I thought you're coming home the day after tomorrow...' Ana said as she hugged her son.
