The 5 of us had raced each other all the way to Mako Island into the moon pool where it had all began. Jordan I were in a separate race with each other than the girls. I got there the same time Emma did and he tied with Rikki. He insisted that I cheated which was so ridiculous. You're just upset I beat you. You swim as slow as a turtle Emma was telling Rikki but Rikki laughed at her saying she almost beat her and not long after Cleo swam up she was upset that they cut her off. You were so far behind we forgot you we were even there Rikki teased her. And then we turned back around to race back home the way we came Rikki feeling like she could beat Emma back even though we had just gotten there only to turn back around and go home.
When we got back we went to the juice bar. Emma claiming that she's just faster than Rikki and wondered how many more times she had to prove it. Yeah well I'd say the same to Jordan but we usually tie. I just happened to win both round this time. We're pretty even matched. Cleo was upset her hot coco was Luke warm and not hot and if it's going to be Luke warm they should say Luke warm on the menu as we all sat down in booth. I like Luke warm hot coco it's not too hot and not too cold. I'd gotten my own but when no one was looking Rikki heated up Cleo's hot chocolate. But when it was steaming she said thanks and took a sip a smirk on all our faces but she burned her tongue and said it was too hot so Emma cooled it down for her. Try that she said as Lewis came up to the table good thing he knew our secret or we'd be in big trouble. Cleo said it was perfect.
I'm gonna pretend I didn't see that. He told us as he kissed the top of Cleo's head and sat down beside her taking his laptop out giving a playful hair ruffle to his brother in greeting. And I'm gonna pretend you actually have something interesting to say. Rikki teased him. But he did have something interesting to say as he held Cleo's hand he insisted he found away to protect from the affects of the full moon tonight. Lewis we applaud you for efforts I started. But Farrah and I have been mermaids for almost 9 years now and if there was a way to protect us from it we'd figured it out by now Jordan cut me off. While the other girls agreed that no matter what happens the full moon always affects one us and crazy things always happen. We had everything covered he told us preparation was 9/10s of blah blah blah. But no light could get in at Rikki's and Emma was also prepared in some fashion and Cleo was gonna hide under her sleeping bag and Jordan and I were kind of doing all of it like we had been the last about 9 years now in our own ways.
How when the full moon came around those 8 other years while Jordan was here and I wasn't and have gone through this all alone without having anything crazy happen was beyond me and how he managed especially the first full moon after turning. And we had to remember we couldn't even look at the reflection of the moon. He tried to explain something about the planets aligning and when the moon was coming up and when it was setting but we'd rather do things our way. When Cleo and I (outfit 51) got home Kim was in our room. Thigs had been pretty difficult on all of us lately because our parents had split up. To be honest things started getting difficult once I got back into their lives. Kids often think it's them who made them split up in the first place and while my sisters agreed they were having problems prier to me coming home I thought things would be better now that I was back. But it made me think about how when struggling couples think they'll be happier and stronger when they have a family that a baby will make things better but they end up splitting up anyways.
She was in our room looking through Cleo's closest that all my things were too dark and wanted to borrow something from Cleo's closet to her first ever adult concert and wanted to look cool but the outfit she wanted to wear Cleo hadn't even worn yet because it was brand new. Kim scolded her that just because our parents split didn't make her in charge and then Cleo scolded her to get out of our room and with a big smile on her face Kim called for dad and they ran down the stairs I wanted no part of this. They ran down while I sat curled up at the top of the stairs. And for some reason it's always the older sibling that gets in trouble when the little sibling is in the wrong and things got worse from there because they talked about mom leaving and how she usually dealt with things like this and how Cleo was gonna take her to the concert but she was upset because she didn't even like the XYZ band that was playing but dad said basically too bad because mom bought two tickets to go to the concert before she left.
