The sound of a sharp slap reverberates through the air, causing a girl with long, luscious black hair to collapse to her knees. Her hands are bound behind her back, and blood trickles from her split lip.

"Aaradhya, you would've never imagined yourself in this situation right?" sneers Meera, her voice dripping with malice.

Aaradhya, struggling to focus through the pain, manages a defiant smirk. "Looking at your tattered face and ugly expression is nauseating, but it does lift my spirits."

"Meera mam what should we do with her ?" Asked the bodyguard to the haughty lady.

Aaradhya's eyes were gaining senses, she scanned her surroundings.

"I am at a cruise ship? What is going on? why can I only remember my name and nothing else? Ahh my head hurts, it's spinning. Why is this lady screaming like a crow?"Aaradhya ganished her teeth annoyed by Meera's voice.

Ignoring Aaradhya's distress, Meera taunts, "Aaradhya, weren't you itching for a fight with me? What happened? Run out of steam?"

"Who the hell are you miss? Why am I here? Is that too tied up? Miss kidnapping and murder is a highly punishable offense!"

"Aww, you still have the heart to worry for me? Analyze your situation, has your brain gone dull due to anesthesia?" Chuckling evilily Meera looked at her elder sister intently.

"Untie me now!" screamed Aaradhya

"Aye Aaradhya don't tell me you have lost your memory or gone crazy because I destroyed your reputation and stole your beloved boyfriend?" eyeing her up. She then grabs her neck in a chokehold.

"Aaradhya don't think I would let you go if you pretend to be crazy. Say farewell to this world 'cause you are dying now!"

"Miss, miss wait, calm down if you have something against me let's talk it off, or you can torture me to a slow death, to your heart's content isn't that better?" trying to shrug off Meera's hands from her neck.

"You want to live? Heh dream it" Saying this she pushes Aaradhya off the ship

"I hope the sharks have a good feast." laughs loudly like a maniac, while Aaradhya screams for help.

Aaradhya who doesn't know how to swim, is drowning in the depths of the ocean.

"Is this how my life ends?" minutes before she loses consciousness she has a strange vision of vibrant-colored fins.

After Long Hours

Aaradhya is unconscious at the shore. Peaceful waves gushing her and cool winds blowing. She gains consciousness. She finds herself with no wounds but aches all over her body.

"I..I...I am not dead?"

"I...It H..Hurts so bad! Oh God! Thankfully I am not wounded!"

"Have I been drifted to a deserted island? Why can't I see a sign of inhabitants? I won't be stuck here forever living a life of savagery, will I?" terrified her eyes frantically search for another human being on the seashore. Her stomach makes a large sound hearing which she sighs.

"After surviving a disaster I sure need replenishment. My whole dress is wet with this cool wind blowing I don't think my body will survive, I might as well freeze to death. I need to figure out how to start a fire."

She walks around the shoreline of the deserted island. She gathers wood, picks up wild fruits and plants, gathers stones, and returns.

"What an adventurous life, who would have thought to live a life of early men? Here I am collecting firewood, trying to ignite fire from stones." She pouts

"These stones are sharp, good I can try to catch some fish and later keep them with me in case of danger."

"Huff! Finally, now that the wood is lit, I can dry my clothes and catch some fish and eat. "

A little while later

"Wow with my luck today I was able to catch a fish to satisfy my hunger? Did the heavens finally pity me?" she murmured munching on the roasted fish.

"I will seek vengeance once I am out "

"Why do I feel like someone is watching me ?"

"I might be hallucinating, my mental state is a mess yeah!"

"Its true hunger makes even bare minimum food taste like a heavenly dish!"

Unknown to her, a merman watched from the depths with puppy love-filled eyes. As she devoured the roasted fish like a hungry animal, she stared into the sea, hoping to spot more food, but instead noticed something unusual. The merman chuckled at her actions, but her sudden high-pitched scream startled him.

"Was that a shark?!"

She squinted, trying to get a better look. "Fishtail! Why do I feel like I've seen it somewhere? But how could that be? That fishtail looks so unusual like it's straight from a fantasy."

She rubbed her eyes, the mysterious fishtail disappearing in the blink of an eye. "Now that I think about it, wasn't I thrown into the sea with my hands tied? According to the concept of buoyancy and density, I should have sunk. How in the world did I end up on this deserted island?"

"It's completely impossible unless... unless I encountered a human-saving dolphin."

"Dolphin," she muttered, trying to make sense of it all.

A flapping sound caught her attention. "So it was a dolphin that saved me," she concluded.

"Hey, Dolphin, you see, I have no food for myself, so it's unlikely I can give you a treat to repay you, but I can surely sing a calming song for you."

Her voice echoed softly over the water as she sang, the melody soothing her weary mind. Exhaustion quickly took over, and she drifted into a slumber before finishing the song. As she slept, the merman emerged from the deep waters, his eyes filled with tenderness. He creased her cheeks with love, his cheeks blushing with a rosy hue, basking in the gentle connection between them.
