1995,Vought Secret lab,unknown location

"Test Subject 87, wake up!" A middle-aged man in a crisp white coat barked the order, his glare stinging at the young girl huddled in her gray t-shirt and pajamas.

Lily, her dark blonde hair a mess, jolted awake. Fear widened her eyes as they darted to the man. "Bryant," he corrected harshly, "you're being transferred to another facility. Your personal belongings are already packed by Ms. Gibson."

Lily, still trembling slightly, managed a small nod. "Don't nod," the scientist snapped, his voice like ice. "Say yes."

"Yes, s-sir," she stammered, flinching under his stern gaze. He gave a curt nod, seemingly satisfied.

"Ms. Bryant," he began, a hint of condescension in his tone, "we've trained you extensively for a whole year. I trust you won't embarrass us by behaving like a child at the next facility." With that, he strode out, leaving Lily alone with a woman whose white hair contrasted sharply with her kind brown eyes.

Lily watched the scientist disappear down the sterile hallway, a lump forming in her throat. She turned to Ms. Gibson, the woman's gentle gaze offering a small comfort in the cold, white room.

"Don't worry, Lily," Ms. Gibson whispered, her voice soft despite the harsh environment. "They can't take everything from you. You're stronger than they think."

Lily's lip trembled as a tear escaped, tracing a path down her cheek. "Where am I going?" she asked, her voice small and raw.

Ms. Gibson knelt beside her, reaching out to gently squeeze Lily's hand. "I don't know, sweetheart. But wherever it is, remember what we've practiced. Focus on your control. Don't let them see you're scared."

Lily sniffled, wiping her tears with the back of her hand. A flicker of defiance ignited in her eyes, a spark of rebellion against the constant fear they tried to instill. "I won't," she said, her voice stronger than before.

Ms. Gibson gave her a small smile, her eyes crinkling at the corners. "That's the spirit," she said, standing up. "Now, come on. Let's see what they've packed for you."

As they walked towards a utilitarian duffel bag on the bed, Lily couldn't help but ask, "Will I ever see you again?"

Ms. Gibson paused, a flicker of sadness crossing her features. "I can't promise anything, Lily," she admitted. "But you'll always hold a special place in my heart."

Lily hurried out of the lab, blinking back tears. Miss Gibson stood at the doorway, a warm smile on her face, the only one offering a genuine goodbye. The other scientists and doctors offered curt nods or strained smiles.
