Bible and Jeff were celebrated actors known for their incredible on-screen chemistry and the unbreakable bond they shared off-screen. Secretly, they dated for seven years, their relationship a hidden treasure amidst the glare of fame. However, the pressures of their careers and the strain of secrecy led to their breakup a year ago. Since then, they've gone their separate ways, each finding new partners.

The story opens on the night of the grand charity gala. Bible arrives with Sara, his charming and supportive new partner. The cameras flash as they step onto the red carpet, their smiles radiant but hiding a hint of something deeper. Jeff arrives shortly after with Chris, his charismatic and attentive new partner. They, too, are the picture of a happy couple, but there’s a shadow in Jeff's eyes.

Inside the gala, Bible and Jeff spot each other from across the room. Their eyes meet, and for a moment, time seems to stand still. They share a sad, broken smile, each recognizing the unresolved feelings in the other. They’re quickly swept up by the crowd, making polite conversation and mingling with other guests, but their thoughts are consumed by memories of their time together.

Throughout the evening, Bible and Jeff steal glances at each other. Each smile, each laugh they share with their new partners feels like a performance, a necessary facade. They navigate the gala, their paths crossing but never quite meeting, each interaction charged with unspoken words.

The climax of the evening comes when the photographers call for group photos. Bible stands with Sara, posing gracefully. On the opposite side, Jeff stands with Chris, his arm around his partner. As the photographers click away, Jeff’s gaze wanders to Bible. Bible catches him looking, their eyes locking for a brief, poignant moment. Jeff quickly turns back to face the cameras, but the moment is not lost on either of them.

Under the star-lit sky on the balcony, Bible and Jeff finally find a moment away from the prying eyes of the gala. The air is thick with unspoken words and lingering memories. Bible leans against the railing, his gaze distant, while Jeff stands a few steps away, looking at him with a mixture of longing and regret. Bible clears his throat and greets him softly, "Hey, Jeff."

Jeff turns to him, forcing a smile. "Hey, Bible."

A silence falls between them, heavy and charged. Bible breaks it first. "How have you been?"

Jeff takes a deep breath, his voice trembling slightly as he replies, "I'm happy with Chris." He tries to muster a convincing smile, but his eyes betray him. Bible turns to face him fully, searching his face for the truth.

"Are you really?" Bible asks softly, his voice heavy with the weight of the past year apart.

Jeff swallows hard, his facade cracking. "I am," he insists, but the quiver in his voice tells a different story. He looks away, blinking back tears. "He’s a great guy, supportive and understanding. Everything I should want."

"But?" Bible steps closer, his presence both comforting and painful.

"But... he’s not you," Jeff admits, his voice breaking. The raw honesty in his words hangs in the air, mingling with the cool night breeze.

Bible’s heart aches at the confession, his own feelings mirrored in Jeff’s eyes. "I miss you too," he whispers, the words slipping out before he can stop them.

Jeff’s eyes moisten, and he struggles to keep his emotions in check. Seeing this, Bible gently reaches out and holds Jeff’s shaky hands firmly but softly. "I'm glad you found happiness when I couldn’t give it to you," Bible says, his voice filled with a mix of sadness and sincerity.

This declaration pierces Jeff deeply because, in truth, Bible is the real happiness in his life. The realization hangs heavy between them, unspoken but understood. They stand there, the silence between them filled with all the things they wish they could say. The city lights twinkle in the distance, a stark contrast to the darkness of their shared sorrow.

Finally, Jeff takes a deep breath, trying to steady himself. "We both have new lives now," he says, more to himself than to Bible. "We have to move on."

Bible nods, though the sadness in his eyes shows he’s not convinced. "Yeah, we do," he replies, the resignation in his voice echoing their shared pain.

As they head back inside to rejoin their partners, they share one last, lingering look. It’s a silent acknowledgement of what they had and what they lost, a bittersweet acceptance that their paths have diverged, but their hearts still remember.
